I have a diesel gen in my Winnebago class C - little to no smell and I can keep the propane for the stove, heater etc.

My 2019 Winnebago View 24D is 25.6 feet, OCCC is 1080 (not huge but also not 400-700).  The diesel gen and Truma tankless hot water ensures that the 13 gal (= 2 20lb tanks) will last a very long time.  It is also very maneuverable and I do not bring a toad

I guess a lot of the decision depends on where you need to place the HW unit.  On my 2019 View, it's velcro'd to the floor of the bay.  Out of the way and easily removed or bypassed if I ever need to...  I shortened the original shore power cable to make it much easier to plug to generator...

I?ve got a friend with a 2017 Winnebago View (24J) who hauls a Suzuki 450 (?) dual sport with no problems on his hitch rack.  I think my BMW F650gs is too heavy so I?m going with 2 e-bikes.

I use relatively small Eric Johnson picks (red) which have raised lettering on both sides - gives me a good grip on them
