Thanks for all the tips and advice. I am back home now and plan on troubleshooting using the ideas given to me on this. After a close inspection of the radiator, I am seeing some deterioration. I think I will replace the radiator while I can do it under my terms and not in an emergency situation...
The radiator is in the rear and I also have heard that overheating with a rear mounted one is common. I have cleaned the outside where I have access but not the inside next to the engine. I don't plan on using the dash air and have considered removing the house A/C condenser on the rear drivers...
It's a 2001 Winnebago Ultimate Advantage 40 J with a 330 Cat. I can't find any fans as some people had talked about near the radiator . The only time the gauge climbs to a level I am concerned about is when pulling a steep grade or when in higher elevations. My thought was to add electric fans...
Has anyone ever added auxiliary electric cooling fans to the radiator to help keep the engine running at a normal temperature when pulling hills, especially in mountain areas ?
John thanks for the heads up regarding delivery time on new furniture orders. I will be reupholstering the existing sofa and leaving the J sofa alone. I don't know why but the jack knife sofa on the slide out side and the window valences fabrics are in like new condition but the fabric looks...
The existing carpet and pad is a slight bit higher than the ceramic tile. The engineered wood I am using is the height of the tile. When the slide is extended you can see impressions in the carpet from it. I don't know if it would drag and scratch the wood flooring was my reason for some sort of...
Thanks for the reply. Did you just cut the carpet at the edge of the slide and leave what was remaining under it there ? Also the teflon rollers you mentioned, where exactly are they located ? I assumed I would probably need to put some sort of protective layer of something on the hardwood...
I am in the process of replacing the carpet in my 2001 Ultimate Advantage 40 J. Has anyone used laminate wood flooring ? The slide out is elevated about 2 inches off the main floor level. The raised area of the slide out is hidden by the front panel of the jackknife sofa. My question is...
Again Thank you Ernie for all of your valuable information. I will try to post pictures during the make over. All the upholstery i.e window treatments, dining room chairs, jackknife sofa, back splash tile, etc will be changed out to keep the Lady of the Coach happy ! What have I gotten myself...
Thanks again Ernie. It may come to that ! LoL. Actually I have an extensive background in home construction. My main reason for some of these questions is to find out how relevant that is to work being performed on my RV. I have installed a lot of both 3/4 " tongue and groove to the new...
That's good to hear Ernie and confirms that this is how I want to do mine. Again excellent job and I will be referring back to the post for information as I tackle the project. My biggest obstacle now will be trying to time the job with the weather conditions. Everything I have read states to...
Thanks John. I'm glad to hear it is glued down and hopefully have had no issues with expansion and contraction of the wood. I just couldn't come up with a way to make it work using the free floating installation as opposed to glue down.
