    Newbie looking to outfit TT

Should have mentioned to wait on the electric cord extension. 25' should cover most every need. It's not an absolute necessity. The 20 ft. sewer connection is good to have, as I found out on my last trip. Not sure where you got the idea an outdoor rug is a needed item. It fits under those nice...

    Newbie looking to outfit TT

Our TT is 30 amps, should we have a 50 amp adapter right away or check for where we are camping? Personally. I'd be more inclined to get an adapter for house power (30 amp to 15 amp) before investing is a 50 amp. I've got one, and have never used it. Most campgrounds will all have 30 amps, not...

Question on filling the water tank/tank levels etc

Is it perhaps the water pump? That seems to be about where I hear mine, even though it's located near the water tank under the bed.

    RV lots on Ohio turnpike.

I used the one at the Blue Heron plaza on my recent visit to Michigan. In fact, we stayed there rather than continue on, because it was so nice to have electricity, potable water and the free dump station. I only wish more would do as Ohio does. Now, regarding the length limit. I have a 31 foot...

    Dog outdoor containment while RV'ing?

About the system shocking if power is lost, it depends on the manufacturer. Mine doesn't, it merely quits working. It's a given that you never ever leave the dog(s) outside unattended on these. By that, I mean don't leave on a shopping trip while the dog is outside. But it doesn't mean you can't...

So where are good sources to buy a good used motorhome

I just want to mention something about craigslist. A lot of times some jerk will take the same pictures and falsely advertise a motor home as theirs to sell. If the price is too low, be very very suspicious. I've even seen the exact same ad, with the real one being say, $10,000 and the false ad...

Beach camping: Sand in the RV?

I've used baby powder, but a cheaper alternative is corn starch. We had a cottage on the beach on Saginaw Bay (Michigan) for most of my life, and the corn starch was actually the best. It feels so silky on the toes. Use exactly as you would baby powder (with a puff).

Would you pay for a doggie play park?

Depending on where you live, there are many free parks, but I would be leery of going to any one of them except at early morning times. It's never the dogs at dog parks, it's always the owners. I've heard many horror stories about what goes on at them, with clueless owners on their phones...

Sort of dumb question about a tow dolly (you can tell I'm a newby)

Thanks for the welcome, Lou Schneider. At least my directions (It's a Master Tow with surge braking) say the wheel should be locked. But it never said anything about being in park. Just e brake off after loading. I am going to try it out this week. I will probably terrify my hubby, he's never...

Sort of dumb question about a tow dolly (you can tell I'm a newby)

Thank you. That's exactly what I needed to know. And a bigger thanks for not laughing at me.

Sort of dumb question about a tow dolly (you can tell I'm a newby)

Okay, so my car has to go on a tow dolly. It's a front wheel drive automatic (2011 Nissan Versa if it matters). I'm aware the steering wheel needs to be in a locked position. But nowhere have I been able to find whether the transmission should be in neutral, or if it needs to be in park. Please...

    Dog outdoor containment while RV'ing?

I haven't yet used it, as I'm so new my only camping experience was a 3 day "shakedown cruise" at a local campsite, but I'm planning to take along my wireless containment system. Living in Maine on 5 acres of wooded, and sloping granite ledge, a physical fence has never been an option for us. So...

    Grey/black potable tanks

Might want to check on Craigslist. I've seen a few on there, going for pretty cheap (like around $25), even here in Maine.  :)

    New here from Maine

Hi all, I'm new to the forum, and to having an RV. I purchased an older (1990) Tiffin Alegro a couple months ago. I live in Maine, although I'm from Michigan, and am hoping to get back there for a visit at some point. We did a shakedown camping trip at one of our local campgrounds, and I...
