How small is the RV that you're fulltiming in?

M'Lady Wolf and I live in a 32' motorhome with a slide. For us, the slide makes all the difference in the world. We pull it in to make our propane runs and always heave a sigh of relief when we get back and deploy it again. I work full time and we've been in the same place for just over a year...

    A Year of Serenity

My apologies for being late with the next installment but a thing called "Real Life" has intruded. I've been busy with helicopter maintenance and preparing for an FAA inspection. As soon as things return to some semblance of normalcy, I promise to get back to it :)

    A Year of Serenity

If I could afford to write full time, I would. My sons and the rest of the Wolf Clan have bee pestering me to finish a couple of projects I started too many years ago. They do put stuff in strangest places. The water lines run under the floor where they cross from the right to the left. I have...

    A Year of Serenity

Maddie, I'm told that I'm good at making others feel a lot less stupid. That's a good thing- isn't it? "Don't Ignore Your Fans" or "The Electric Bill Is How Much?!?" You've got to take your victories where you can. We had heat, we had water (although I had to cap off the cold water line to the...

    Electrical Problems

Replaced the burnt wires and both swollen batteries. Hooked everything up, reset the circuit breakers and everything is working correctly. The wires are not getting hot either. All is good. Again, thanks to all!

    Electrical Problems

Just Lou, I cannot thank you and everyone else enough for the advice. I still think I'm going to need to get new batteries but for now, I was able to restore AC power to our motorhome. More importantly, the advice to pull the breaker panel and inspect everything inside lead me to find a wire...

    Electrical Problems

You did. In my frustration I didn't see it before. I'm gonna have a bit of lunch, take a breath and tackle it again

    Electrical Problems

The tops of the two 6 volt batteries are swollen so I suspect they are on their last legs Shore power receptacles are working As I stated earlier, there is no AC power in the RV I've checked all the circuit breakers I could find, both inside (is that what you mean by "in the house"?) and...

    Electrical Problems

The problem I'm having is that I'm getting NO shore power in the motorhome, only battery power

    A Year of Serenity

Wife did get the name from Firefly. One of the best shows ever produced. It's criminal that it got the short shrift Old Man Winter Teaches Me About Pipes Heating your home gets kinda pricey with propane being nearly $3 a gallon. It costs over $50 to fill our tank and we were doing it almost...

    Electrical Problems

Came home from work the other day and noticed the lights were rather dim in the RV. We're hooked up to shore power so it was rather puzzling. Turns out the shore power isn't being distributed through the RV and the lights were running off battery power. I verified the power pedestal outside was...

    snow event coming

We have spent two winters in our RV in Utah and if we had pulled in the slideout during the snows, we would have gone stir crazy, easier to heat or not! Our motorhome is just too small with the slideout pulled in. Of course, we are paying the price, the sail cloth that rolls out with the slideout...

    A Year of Serenity

As a Contractor in the field of aviation, my job has taken me all over the west, up & down the Left Coast and even as far east as Delaware. At each job, we needed to take an apartment. Most have been pretty nice places to live, but to be honest, it got to be stressful wondering which would run...

    Replacing Furnace Blower Motor

Haven't checked in for awhile. We're up near Ogden. Weather has warmed up and I've been replacing the PVC tubing with PEX. Next project is to tear into the utility room, rip out the PVC and replace it with PEX and install valves to allow us to run city water and fill our tank from there. Now...
