    Brake proportional valve

My 1973 Dodge chassis Winnie threw off the front brake pads, pedal hit the floor, proportional valve pin is now visible. I have replaced everything in the brake system except the valve. I removed the valve, cleaned it out best i could (there was a little rust inside), centered the light piston...

    Outside brake pads came off

Thanks for the tips Dirtless Shifter. I think I will replace hoses, rotors, pads, calipers, fluid, well everything. Cost is less than $250.00 for all. Get the right parts and save a headache of this happening again.

    Outside brake pads came off

Poncho 62, Yes, the outside pads came off completely, intact. The alignment tab on the front side was twisted sideways, allowing the pad to drop out of the front side. New one on me. Thanks for the reply!!

    Outside brake pads came off

Wavery, thanks for the tips. The pads have no clips on them and the calipers are held on by spring clips. As for the fluid, the master cyl was changed and new fluid ran through all lines. Really not that much to change calipers, pads and rotors and start over. I was trying to find drawings to...

    Outside brake pads came off

The pads were brand new. I had just purchased them 2 days before, taking the old one with me to the parts store, to match them. I did buy the $35 cheap ones instead of the $50 ones I purchased three years ago. I do have to get new ones again now that I am missing the outside ones. Thanks for...

    Outside brake pads came off

The brakes were working fine before they failed and the outside pads came off. This incident happened about a mile from my house and there was not enough time for the brake fluid to heat up. As for the rubber lines collapsing internally, I will change them out, but I feel the problem is...

    Outside brake pads came off

1973 Winnebago Brave, Dodge chassis, 440cid, front disc, rear drum. I replaced both front calipers 3 years ago, less than 3K miles on them. Started on a trip last weekend, RF started shaking at 55 mph. Pulled off, checked front discs, so hot they would burn skin. Limped home, careful not to warp...

    1947 Flxible Clipper

My father also owned a 1947 Flxible that was converted. It had a 401 CID V6 that came out of a dump truck. It was originally a greyhound bus that ran around Abilene, Fort Leavenworth and Junction City,Kansas. What a blast that was riding in that bullet. He sold it in Colorado in the 90's.

Rear brakes Dodge chassis - 1973 Brave

Hey guys, Got the right side done today. The axle shaft came out fairly easy after the 8 nuts were removed, and the cone washers slid off. Next was the 2-9/16 outer nut, which was held on by the washer behind it. That washer had tabs facing out and in. After both nuts were removed the rear hub...

What is your most embarressing RVing moment

Picked up an ole 73 Winnebago Brave last year. Decided to do a few short trips close to home. First two trips were great, only a sink water leak. Third trip was good, until I left for home. Left the park, drove 2 miles to the highway, proceeded to drive south. About a mile down the road I...

Rear brakes Dodge chassis - 1973 Brave

Hello everyone, I haven't been on here for a month or so, work is good. I recently purchased new tires for the ole rig and looked at the rear brake drums while the wheels were off. Planning a long trip this spring and I want to pull off the rear drums to check out the brakes. From what I...
