Braking/OverDrive Options when dealing with steep incline/decline

Don't be afraid to use your transmission! Shift down a gear or turn off your overdrive for long downhill runs. I will use lower gears for stops also. Start downhills slowly and keep it slow and steady. Once you gain speed and momentum it's hard to slow with just breaks. Keep in mind if you do...

    Coax for Carryout G2 Plus

Thanks everybody for the responses. The reason I asked is I'm using a Directv reciever with DVR and need to use 2 cables from the antenna to the reciever. It's funny that Winegard boasts an antenna that can run 2 recievers or DVR but they don't supply the second cable. I'm using 2 ea. 75ft...

Quick Way To Change DirectTV Service

Thank you all for responding! I think Gary has a good idea, simple is better. Next time I will just say I have moved and not get into the RV discussion. The problem is resolved. My guess is that the first operator was inexperienced and needed more training. Asking for my new service address 5...

Quick Way To Change DirectTV Service

Just spent way too much phone time (over 2 hours total) with 3 different operators/tech's with Directv to change my service area and to allow for local channels. So very frustrating! Is this normal? Is there an easier way? Am I not using the right lingo that the operators can understand? Is...

    RBC or Composite Converter

Soon I will be upgrading to a Directv HR24 reciever. It has no coax output so I plan on using HDMI output to our main TV. My problem is the cable going back to our bedroom TV is RG6 coax. How do I convert the RBG or composite output on the reciever to a RG6 coax so I can run our bedroom TV. Is...

    Upgrade Directv Reciever

Hi Bobsharon, thanks for the response. Yes, we do have the round dish antenna on a tripod. Our TV has 2 HDMI connections so that's a plus. We are looking forward to having a DVR again, it's been a few years! Thank you both for your service to our country. God bless and Merry Christmas!

    Upgrade Directv Reciever

I may have the answer to my own question; Doesn't matter if the reciever is HD or not, it all depends on the antenna. A HD reciever will still recieve programming with a standard antenna. How am I doing?

    Upgrade Directv Reciever

We are now full-time in the Mothership and would like to up grade our Directv reciever. We are looking for suggestions. Since we do not have a HD antenna we want to get a standard reciever with DVR. Called Direct, they referred to 1 Guard who suggested the HR24 model. Everything I see on the...

Neg. Cable Off, Stereo Still On!?!?

Lou; Thanks. I was thinking just about the battery, not thinking bigger like the whole vehicle. Happy; Interesting! troubleshooting electrical problems has never been my strong point. Old; I had a friend that welded his metal watch band to his wrist by crossing the positive terminal on a...

Neg. Cable Off, Stereo Still On!?!?

BoomerD; Yep, I have the same switch on the dash, and yes you are correct, my rig does power the steps with the start battery. Thank you for the response! John; Thanks for the info. on the Trik-L-Start, I'm learning a lot from this forum! Seiler; The switch I bought will not fit on the...

Neg. Cable Off, Stereo Still On!?!?

In my attempt to isolate my new start battery, I bought and installed a slick disconnect switch (the kind with the turn knob) on the negative post of the start battery. After putting the Adventurer to bed for a few months, I left the dash stereo on using the ignition key and unscrewed the switch...
