    RV Magazine

I just finished my second issue and I don't think I'll waste my time on any more of them. Straight to recycle from now on. Such a waste, since my Motorhome subscription has over a year to go. I did get a good laugh out of the "date night excercises for couples" feature. (pg.81) Like all the...

    Autoformers Good or Bad

Yes the yellow one is the one I have. It is labeled Surge Guard. I got it from Camping World about 5 years ago. It has been sitting in my garage for 3 years.

    Autoformers Good or Bad

I used a Surge Guard 30 amp autoformer for a couple of summers at a low voltage park and it worked fine. I don't need it anymore and it just sits in my garage so if the OP or anybody else wants it come over and pick it up! (That is if you are near Stockton, Calif LOL)

    Generator sort of works

Keeping my RV at a park for the summer. I ran the generator once last month and this month also to exercise it. I unhooked from shore power and ran the a/c and microwave off the generator.  However, none of the wall outlets worked. When I shut the a/c and hooked back up to the park everything...

    Ford V-10 in a class A

      Oops I meant "Tow/Haul", not Tow/Hall!

    Ford V-10 in a class A

In a 29' coach the V-10 will have plenty of power. One thing you will notice is it is quite loud, since it is sitting right under you and it needs high rpm to make good power. You will notice high revs and noise going up AND down hills as the tow/hall is engaged and it downshifts like crazy. But...

    DP owners, educate me..

Thanks for the info from the DP owners. I had a feeling that I had a legit concern. "Warming up" is one thing, but idilng like at a truck stoop is another.

    DP owners, educate me..

Today at a nice RV park I ate my lunch outside listening to a huge pusher across from me idling as they prepared to leave. I timed it. They ran the engine for 40 minutes while they wandered around. I wanted to ask the fellow if that was something that was really necessary but thankfully my wife...

    Class A Handling issues

You are doing things right. Air pressure, then a good alignment. I did the same thing to my 2007 Damon on a 20,500 pound chassis. It was much better but when I added the rear trac bar it was huge as far as handling side winds and trucks. I never did the cheap handling fix because on my coach at...

2016 Ford Tritan V10- downshifts by itself?? Sounds like it is screaming downhil

If the OP has a tow/haul button the constant downshifting down a hill is what it is supposed to do, if he has the button engaged that is. On my 2007 it doesn't do anything as far as switching out of overdrive it just seems to slightly change the shift points as I drive along. It is on the...

    Water heater getting tired?

The flame is as bright and vigorous as when I bought it 5 years ago. I am in dry Northern California and we really don't have very many insect issues. I think a tank flushing may be needed. Or maybe a whole new unit!

    Water heater getting tired?

My Atwood water heater (6 gallon tank) in my 2007 Damon daybreak seems to be taking longer to run it's cycle than it used to. Might be my imagination but yesterday I timed it at 33 minutes of running to heat the water. It was 85 degrees outside and the tank was full from sitting at the...

    Leveling question

I also get it "close" by using leveling blocks under the tires and also under the jacks. As far as my motorhome I have found that manually adjusting the jacks works much better than the automatic feature. When on auto it seems to overshoot each step of the process and it just keeps going...

Propane or AC for better fridge performance

Rene, the fridge is not is a slide out. As far as your other question, I don't know! I'll go out and check this weekend when I leave for a short trip.
