    Returning after absence

We are now full-timers and have been so for a year. We got shut down by COVID right after selling our house in Abilene and hitting the road. We used the time to get a new rig - our 2020 Big Horn 32GK! Made some friends and learned some things as well. We've been in Spring Branch TX for nearly a...

Reliability of tires purchased with new travel trailer

Oh wow. Thank you for checking that out. That is much better than I was figuring. I had just about decided I'd better replace the tires soon with some of the new Goodyears. Mark&Sandy

Above when I gave the width of  my tires, I listed the width as 175... Oops. Couldn't read my own writing. Width is 75. Mark&Sandy

Reliability of tires purchased with new travel trailer

I forgot to ask about this a minute ago. Is this monitoring system something wired into my truck from the trailer, like the back-up camera? Mark&Sandy

Reliability of tires purchased with new travel trailer

I asked for info and thoughts on this topic and have gotten a fair amount to think about, thanks to all of you. Today we went to the dealer to look at our trailer's certification label (thanks Fast Eagle) and to get specific info regarding the present tires, load ratings, etc., as...

Reliability of tires purchased with new travel trailer

Good article, thanks. I will look for ST tires, given the reasoning for using them and also that there would be less tendency for sway. Mark&Sandy

Reliability of tires purchased with new travel trailer

That makes sense. I was pricing the Goodyear tires online that QZ mentioned and will probably go with those when the time comes. As for the dealer, I was thinking about the possibility of them putting the tires on. Can a regular tire place do that or will I most likely have to do it? Mark & Sandy

Thanks for the link. Do trailer dealers put tires on, as a rule? Mark&Sandy

Reliability of tires purchased with new travel trailer

Okay, thanks everyone! I made notes and will take them with us when we go either to get the trailer this weekend or at least get the information you all suggested from the trailer certification label and the tires themselves. I will probably post again on this thread Saturday or Sunday with what...

Reliability of tires purchased with new travel trailer

I've read and seen on YouTube that new tires (those purchased with a new RV) are generally unreliable. Being a rookie, I don't know "First hand" if this is true or not. YOu folks, however, have experience behind you. We just bought ours the end of July and haven't put many miles on it yet...
