You know it?s time to drain the grey water when...

One of the best purchases that I have made is the portable dump tank. I have many times had to use it where we may not have a full hookup. I've even had people laugh at me as I was hauling my grey tank to the dump station. Only to later see someone have to unhook, take the camper to the dump...

Do NOT go to Yosemite right now 7-20-2018

I have to agree, I may cancel my plans, if I had them currently. However....you mentioned another spot nearby that is "nearly the same" . Have to take exception to that one. There is NO place like Yosemite for viewing wildlife, mountain ranges, and history. While I agree that there are places to...

Best and worst of 20'-25' travel trailer quality

I personally don't think it's as open and shut as you would hope. I believe that there are campers that I would not consider. But....of the campers that I did consider when buying, many, many of those have issues also. One of the trailers that I considered was a Puma. Good reports, good reviews...

Looking for recommendations for a qualityTT

Well I have to disagree with the folks that claim that people only post negative reviews, complaints with no positive report. I have a Passport, purchased it brand new in 15. It has brought us a lot of joy. We have fun, and generally enjoy the experiences that we have. But....campers, travel...

    TV Antennas

I live about 65 miles from Chicago, so from home I get, normally 60 or more channels. Camping of course varies by proximity to broadcasting cities. Last year I purchased a King Jack anntena (just the replacement head) and I have never been in a spot where I didn't get 20 or more channels. I have...

    Mouse Proofing

I have the luxury of winter inside storage for our camper. But even inside the threat of rodents and such is very real. I live in a rural community where tractors and combines out number cars and trucks. I go to the local John Deere dealer or TSC and purchase a product called Cab Fresh, or it...

    Carrying bikes on a TT

drcurran...got it. It's called the Stromberg Carlson (cc275) Bike Bunk for cargo tray. On sale now for less that $200.00 on Amazon. Much cheaper that having that bumper welded back on.

    Carrying bikes on a TT

The best idea that I've seen is a hitch mount bike carrier, mounted on the frame in front of the camper, and behind your propane tanks. I've seen that amazon carries it. I'll look it up and post the name for you. Bike racks mounted on a rear bumper are never a good idea as far as I'm concerned...

Slide out "Jerking, jumping when pulled in or out ?

Thanks Arch....appreciate that. I would have thought that the techs that did, or tried to do the repair would have checked that, but with campers, and untrained techs you never know. I'll check it out.

Slide out "Jerking, jumping when pulled in or out ?

Well this is my last post about this miserable Keystone Passport prior to listing it for sale. First let me say that I have a 2015 Passport 2400 Ultra Light. Loved it, then time went on. My wife and i are it's only occupants, except for a small grandchild every once and awhile. The latest...

    Warpage and Gelcoat ?

While camping about 1 month ago my wife and I noticed what looked like a dent on the top of our Passport. We have no children left at home, the camper as far as I know has never been hit, no low trees, nothing that would ever cause this "dent". So I put my ladder up  to inspect the seams on the...

What's wrong with my slide ?

More of the story....recently I took the camper to a well known service center. They had it for 9 days, phoned me to say "it's fixed and ready to go". They say that they had worked on it for 3 days straight. I paid the $250.00 slid out the slide prior to leaving, and guess what ? It acts as if...

What's wrong with my slide ?

Thanks guys....I'll do these searches and see if I can find a solution. Unfortunately, with the new "ultra lite" campers I think that the cable slide is here to stay.

What's wrong with my slide ?

Own a 2015 Passport Ultra lite. It has your typical dinette slide out. It's cable driven, no tracks to speak of, no gears, just cables. It has begun to jerk and jump a little as it comes in or out. The dealer of course wants $250.00 to check and adjust. I'm not a big fan of the dealers service...

Slide out "Jerking, jumping when pulled in out.

I have a 2015 Passport with a dinette slide. The last two times that I used it, it seems to jerk, or kind of jump a bit when moving in or out. This is a cable system and not a track. Could lubrication be the issue ? I have cleaned and lubed to cables, no help there. Any ideas ???
