    1992 Four Winds 29' Class C Remodel

Thanks!  All my renovation has been confined to 1.5 weeks last March and 2 weeks this March.  It just gets used all summer! One year of ownership as of St. Patrick's day!

    1992 Four Winds 29' Class C Remodel

Built the 2nd dinette table, painted a chalkboard on the fridge wall for the kids, painted over the ugly faux granite in the galley, converted all the lights to LED, added cabinets and painted the bathroom, and finished the floor transition at the entry step.

    Jeep Modifications

If you can afford ARB's, it's really hard to beat them.  (Unless you're REALLY railing on your rig and risk ripping airlines--in which case a full spool is better!) For on-road manners and off-road capability (but a hefty pricetag), go ARB's. All other lockers, selectable and non-selectable...

Direction of travel recommendations, Glacier National Park & Beartooth Highway

Sorry you were disappointed in not seeing the full road in your RV. That doesn't mean the Road is inaccessible to those visiting in RV's.  Get on, get off wherever you want, and the shuttles are FREE!! VVVVV

In Trouble (deliberately) with a Company

Another (legalism) point is that the installing Contractor had the apparent authority to modify the Contract.  It's not up to you to determine whether or not they have the authority to do so. As a representative of the monitoring company, they had apparent authority.  It wasn't like you let...

interest in RVing, want to buy a RV under 10K,4person family

To me, a motorhome makes the most sense when you're traveling a lot and only parking a day or two at a time.  Also works great (for me) with a family and have more room for the kids than the back seat of a pickup while we're on the road. A TT makes the most sense when you'll be at one spot for...

And 22.5's roll even better than 19.5's...but you won't find many with a $15k budget.

interest in RVing, want to buy a RV under 10K,4person family

Good question, ironrat. I used to have an MDT-based camper and the larger diameter tires took rough roads a lot better than the ones on my current C. 48woody, in that price range, you're looking at Ford E350 chassis with the 460, or GM 3500 chassis with the 454.  You want the Ford. If you can...

Need to smooth/level a plywood subfloor for vinyl tile installation...

I used the DAP.  It worked pretty well.  Give your subfloor a good sanding with coarse sandpaper.  Knock down the high spots.  There's no point in filling up all the low spots to the height of the highest spots. Then use the DAP to fill in the low spots (valleys).  Give it another sanding if...

    Windows Screens

Sorry, I only replaced my door screen, and it had a standard spline. I don't know if my windows have a smaller spline--if everyone else's do, I suspect mine do as well.  Save the old spline if at all possible and reuse it with new screen!!

    Reserve Gas Tank

I believe it's the engine compartment on Inboard and Inboard-Outboard gasoline boats.  You are correct, the bilge blower is to purge any fumes there before starting the engine. I have an outboard with a built-in gas tank and there is no bilge blower. Still good advice; just like a battery...

Is it possible to remodel to put triple bunks on each side or does space get too tight?

Wheres the beater section? Just picked up a project RV.

This is great advice. Doesn't even have to be a 45?.  Mine are cut at 30? and the bevel keeps the block from tipping up when the wheel hits it. My blocks are cut so they're the length of my storage compartment--or half that length--so they all stack nicely.  I have a couple that have a full...
