Close call with runaway big rig wheel

Back in '73, as the family was moving to Calif, we were all piled in our Olds Vista cruiser going down a street in San Jose to see the new home. A tire came off a car in front of us, bounced, bounced and bounced again, just missing our car with all of us in it. I'll never forget...

    RV Wreck

We always drive 56 or 57 when in CA, OR or WA. Its simply not safe otherwise. btw: I was horrified at the number of cars that wizzed by that stopped truck.

    Thinking about my youth...

srs17 - I too was an Air Force Brat. Daddy was in for 30 years. I went to Amarillo TX a couple of years ago, where we lived off base (Amarillo AFB) back in 61 and 62. Lots of memories of playing in the alley. The house looked so plain and small. Size of homes do shrink as we age.

    Lost my co-pilot

We don't know each other, but your pain and grief hurts. I'm so sorry. I would like to think that she is watching over you. When you least expect it, you may "see" her over there, or "feel" her just behind you. Love is just that. Love.

I love counted cross stitch. I have a huge piece I've been working on for 30 years! Really! I lose it, then find it, then misplace it again, then find it.....

    dinette or table/chairs?

We've had both. I like the Dinette better and especially since I ordered new foam for the seat cushions. What a difference from the crappy ones that we used to sit on.

Summer time - Taking grand kids in your small class B.

We take our three Grands with us every summer - fly them in and then travel for three weeks, ending up where they live in the PNW. But we have a 33 ft fifth so its got lots more room. Its always a lot of fun and we call it Makin' Memories. Our only issue is that the two boys are addicted to...

    Just back from our trip...

We've stayed at that same RV place, Ironhorse. It was nice and we were even hauling our Grands around. They liked the pool. My college roomie was from Zephyr Cove, 40 yrs ago. We just bought our Senior Pass when we visited Sequoia National Park in May. Yea for being 62!

Best route from So. Cal to Spokane, WA for a new RV-er?

Stay on 5 all the way up. Its a bit steep just before Ashland OR, but completely doable and gorgeous.
