    Carpet to Bamboo!

We are hitting the road 2-1-15. Would like to replace the living area carpet in our 2002 Pace Arrow 36 with 3/8" strand woven bamboo. Has anyone done this without removing the slide-out. We will replace the carpet in the slide. My concern is the operation of the slide with the transition from...

    Federal Shutdown

If congress and the potus( lower case not an oversight) weren't getting paid this probably would not last long. If someone has the answer to that, please don't post it. Niels

    There's been some changes made

Ned, I like it. Bj and I are starting late so the MH and retirement house will probably happen about the same time. It will be either a modular or restored older house somewhere between LaGrange and College Station. If I may ask, I'd like to know who the manufacturer was? I can see it with a big...

    Federal Shutdown

Well, it's too late now, but next time lets get ahead of the curve and organize a national "Camp In" and everyone refuse to leave. Collectively, we are probably better qualified to run a campground than they are! Hey, this sounds kinda excitin'. Niels

    High speed stabilizer jack deployment

I love it, but I think I'll need an extension and a U joint cause I don't think I can bend over that far. Niels

    Finally bought a tablet - maybe . . .

Bob, Getting old is hell. When I saw your post, the first word association that popped in to my head was Eagle #2 Pencil. Niels

Casino Parking Lot Boondocking - a Safer Option

Nice try Paul, but as tempting as it is, I'm not going to take your bait. Niels

Not getting the Newmar after all

kyjohn, Thanks, I'm moving Newmar up a notch on my short list. The fact that it was repaired and is still in service says a lot about Newmars construction quality! Niels

    Decals

There are marine grade vinyls that will last as long as a set of tires and beyond. The good stuff is higher but the labor is the same. I think I'd look into ordering a good quality trailer completely bare and getting a graphics pro to put what you want on it. The only limit is your imagination...

Heading south this winter, where to stay ?

I've lived in texas most of my life and saw this thread so I jumped in thinking I'd wow you with great ideas. I came up with a winner; Re-read Redman's post! To save face I'm going to throw in a place that he did not specifically mention. If you like a quiet coastal environment, take a look at...

    Tire Upgrade Question

I agree with the notion of upgrading load capacity and quality. I sold a lot of safety and survival equipment in years past. I always said that there are three things you never wanted to own: cheap tires, a cheap parachute or a cheap life raft. I had a competitor who told any one who would...

    Big Bend

Ned, Thanks, put your website on my favorites. The few pics I had time to look at were great; looking forward to the rest. Niels

    Big Bend

Texas is a land of extremes. I had the bad luck to be living in Alvin, Tx in '78 when we set a new national record of 43in. of rain in 24 hrs. I left for work Wed. morning and got home Fri. night in a borrowed air boat. It was a tropical depression and the winds never got over 35-40mph. In Texas...

    Anybody got a polliwog?

I've been searching for a small, light, immature toad to pull behind a 30ft. gas class A. The more research I've done, the more confused and uncertain I've become. I drive a Suzuki Reno (manual) which would be nice but is not towable 4down, at least not without a lot of restrictions. I'd also...
