When you turn the lite on, and the motor speeds up, AND the voltage goes up, I would think you had some kind of wiring connection in series.

If you choose one that will not overload the air conditioner breaker, why not just power it with the air conditioner breaker. You will not be running them at the same time.

I believe that may be 11 inches of water column, rather than psi.

My guess is that voltage might be below 105 or above 130 would cause this situation. Don't know the actual voltages.

In case it might help, some notes we made on our 08 Journey M# 6538B871 air conditioner: might be similar on yours. If control board green lite is: 1. Slow continuous blink, OK system is normal 2. 4 Medium blinks, DOB timer running 3. 3 Fast blinks, Indoor or Outdoor thermisters out of range...

I wonder if it could be a burned out electric heat element, or bad wire/relay connection to same? If it works on gas, you might try switching to electric and check voltage to heat element. If voltage OK, check amp draw to see if it is heating.

When you say, fails under load, it brings to mind a car we had, acting similar. Turned out to be trash in fuel tank. Every time it bogged down, we would pull over and kill the engine. Restart and might run fine for a while, even under load.

If you haven't already, might try adjusting the latch, either looser or tighter.
