Yes, this is all new so I really need to understand the terminology. Confusing. The manual says shipping weight of trailer is 6435, dry hitch weight is 837, and the cargo carrying capacity is 3245. Length is 32.2. The placard on trailer says the gawr on front is 3500 and 3500 on rear. And the...

I agree. What concerns me is that I read I should tow 85% of capacity as a buffer. Well that takes the 9200 down to 7820...if the trailers gvrw is 7567, that doesn't leave a lot of room for the family, gear, food, etc. am I right in this reasoning?thanks.

Dhyravy, the link said tow capacity of  2012 expedition was 9200. The gvrw of the trailer we were looking at was 7567. I think with these numbers I don't have enough truck. Thoughts? Thanks

Boy I have a lot to learn...the rear axel on truck door says not to exceed 4250 lbs on rear axel, and the smaller trailer is 4616 with a hitch of 567 lbs...
