How to remove this roof coating (maybe tar? not sure)

I'm working on rebuilding/renovating a mid-60s Phoenix camper. A previous owner covered the entire roof with a sheet of thick black rubber (of course they used many screws through the metal siding). We finally got that rubber off this weekend, and found the roof is covered in a hard black layer...

seriously considering converting shower to storage...

I'm in the process of renovating a mid-60s 14' TT. All the plumbing has been removed by a previous owner, and there is enough water damage and half-arsed "repairs" and "modifications" that we're planning on gutting it to the studs (inside and out) and rebuilding. The beds/seating, kitchenette...

Disassembling "canned ham" type camper for water damage repair

I plan on documenting the whole process, but EXCLUDING a running total of how much I spend. I've done that before for other projects, and honestly I never like looking at that spreadsheet.

Disassembling "canned ham" type camper for water damage repair

Thanks for the replies, I'll bookmark eternabond's site. I have a 3-car carport attached to my house, it protects from all but driving rain from one direction (a tarp can handle that easily). I'm in the process of selling a motorcycle and organizing the area, then I can roll the Phoenix in there.

Disassembling "canned ham" type camper for water damage repair

Oh, I have little confidence that the interior is undamaged, I just haven't found it yet. Plus we were thinking of taking out the teeny tiny "bathroom" and doing something else in that space, so I suppose we'll start inside. Thanks! Oops, I edited the link.

Disassembling "canned ham" type camper for water damage repair

I just knowingly bought a camper with water damage, with the intent to repair/renovate. I have a good set of supporting skills and tools, but no direct experience working on campers. At the moment I'm ready to dig in, start removing everything, cataloging and cleaning parts, prioritizing...

    Hello!

I bought the one we looked at. It has a solid trailer frame, new tires and bearings (supposedly), all the exterior metal looks damage-free, I feel no soft spots in the floor, it has all its original windows and rock guard. However there's water damage in the roof and walls, and a lot of shoddy...

Let's see pictures of your 4x4!

1999 Toyota Land Cruiser, with factory center and rear diff locks, Bump It Offroad front bumper with 12k winch, Cooper Discoverer RTX tires. It doesn't see much exciting terrain, in Florida it's pretty much easy trails, deep sand, or lots of mud/water, and I got tired of the mud stuff a long...

    Hello!

Hi, I'm new to rv'ing in general. I've been a tent camper my whole life, but being in Florida makes it really miserable for about 4 months out of the year, so we're looking for an air conditioned box to sleep in. My wife and I are looking for a project to fix up and make our own, preferably a...
