Suggestions for truck to pull 5th wheel

I found a great deal on a 2015 F-350 DRW, 14,000 GVWR, 5,660 payload, 2wd, long bed! We are looking at the 365RL as well. I weighed the truck and the payload is only 200 less than the yellow sticker. I wouldn't get a truck with less than 4000# payload so you have some safety built in. Remember...

    Can my truck pull this?

I would not get a fifth-wheel, to me that would be a mistake. As far as the trucks max tow rating, on my truck it was 11,500. The tongue weight would have been 1380, my max tongue weight was 1150. And I would only be 70# below my payload, which the yellow sticker said was 1796# but after I...

    Got a new TV yesterday

I'm so jacked I can't believe it. Wife and I went round and round. Bigger truck and then a fifth wheel or back to a class A and tow the old truck. Decided bigger truck was the way to go. Went to Chevy, GMC, Ram and Ford these last few weeks. Told them all what I was looking for. Big payload...

    Looking for first travel trailer

Ford says my truck is rated to tow 11,500, but my trailer is 8,000# and I'm out of payload and 100# under the max hitch weight. Tow ratings are useless, it's all about payload, axle weights, hitch weight etc.

    Looking for first travel trailer

A dealer told you that, what a guy. A dealer with a conscience. Hard to believe. I met one like that myself the other day. When I told him I wanted to buy a 5W to fulltime in he said you should look at those that are warranted for full time living. That's 2 out of thousands, course I'm sure...

Travel Trailer or 5th Wheel and Bringing Toys

After you put that much weight in the bed I can't imagine you'll have any payload left for anything but a small trailer with that age truck. There's no payload sticker to look at so you need to weigh it and establish a payload to start.

Towning Nash 17k with 1/2 ton truck

I'm on my second TT with my 2011 f-150 eco-boost. First was a Nash 23D, went to Canada and back to NorCal. Easy pulling and plenty of power, same thing with a much bigger trailer now. The newer trucks have plenty of power/payload for the trailer you're looking at. The eco-boost is a beast...

Cargo limit reached but within tow capacity

If your over your payload you're  putting yourself and everyone else on the road at risk. Don't know why someone would say it's ok. And no you can't do anything to increase the payload!

    How long is too long?

Tow rating is useless, what is your payload?

    Which to buy?

I have 1450 payload on my truck after weighing it (sticker said 1796). The tongue weight is 1,050, limit is 1150 on a class 3 hitch and my trailer weighs 8200 loaded and the bed is empty so I'm saying it's still a no to a 10,000TT imo!

    Which to buy?

Many 1/2 ton trucks can handle a 10,000# TT. On what planet would that be on, maybe 1 or 2 of them possibly!

    Fifth Wheel towing

Too close IMHO to be safe with your numbers. Weigh your truck, don't trust the door sticker. 25% of the larger GVWR gives you no room for safety at all. There are plenty of lighter 5ers out there, good luck!

    Nissan Titan and towing

Don't trust the door sticker, that's based on factory curb weight. Go to a Cat scale with you and a full tank of gas and then take that weight and subtract that from your trucks GVWR. That is your true payload. On my F-150, the sticker said 1796, but when I weighed it it ended up 1450. Like...
