Question - Adding new fittings on my Attwood 6 Gal water heater

I'm changing out the elbow fitting on the cold water inlet. What size is that fitting 3/8" or 1/2"? The brochure does not say. The one that's in there looks like a Flair-it fitting. Is it better to use a brass or plastic, Flair-it, fitting? As always, regards and thanks for your help.

    need replacement cabover front window

Thanks Sightseers. The seal is rubber and wraps around the glass pane inside the aluminum frame. So it is a rubber buffer on both sides of the glass. With the seal removed, as it is now, the glass rattles around in the frame a bit. I would guess that there is a 1/8" clearance from the frame on...

    need replacement cabover front window

I have a 2000 Itasca Spirit Class C. The front facing window, approx. 17" X 72" wide, needs a new seal. My local RV repair has had one on order for months with no results. I need to move on so does anyone know the availability of these windows, new or used...or where to look for one? I did an...

Atwood 6 gal propane water heater not lighting

thanks again all. Until my next issue....happy trails. There is always something in an older RV. I may need to discuss a leak in my cabover... noticing some new rust in the front , lower metal corner seals. This has been a really wet winter in So Cal. Alan

Atwood 6 gal propane water heater not lighting

I ordered the Dometic board before I read your messages. Thank you for the recommendation. I'll get the Dinosaur board when this one quits. So, the board is installed and the unit now ignites fine. I have little experience with using the RV water heater over time. When I use it, should I...

Atwood 6 gal propane water heater not lighting

OK. I cleaned all of the connections to the circuit board, pulled out the sparking unit, checked it out. I suspected the probe as the ground side was somewhat loose in it's welded connection to the bracket. So I ordered a new probe, installed and tested for lighting and no joy, still no...

Atwood 6 gal propane water heater not lighting

Hi. I am relatively new at this, bought my 2000 Itasca Spirit a year ago. Just finished a week of dry camping in AZ. The water heater worked several times for showers but then last day it would not light. 1) There is plenty of propane, fridge & stove work well. 2) There is power to the unit...

Have some wandering while driving my Itasca Spirit

Thanks Gary and everyone.. I am new to all this so still trying to absorb it. It's easy enough to start off with some chosen pressures based on the chart. Say, 55 front and 60 rear. Regarding the balance of the load side to side is less clear. The front does not seem to have any obvious big...

Have some wandering while driving my Itasca Spirit

Thanks for the research, Gene. As I read this, I get 40psi in front and 55psi in back. My actual load in front is 1580lbs/side and rear is 3630/side or 1815/tire. Does 40 and 55psi sound right to you?

Have some wandering while driving my Itasca Spirit

There is no chart of tire pressures for varying loads from Firestone, according to the local store. And, from them, you are not supposed to use different pressures for different loads. He asked me questions about which chassis my RV was on and gave me the pressures for front 55lbs and rear...

Have some wandering while driving my Itasca Spirit

Thanks Gary. I'm glad you put in your note about accuracy and ability to use axle weight rather than each corner weight. I did just get the beast weighed. But the attendants said corner weight would not be accurate from their scale. So, I got the axle weights anyway. So front is 3160lbs...

Have some wandering while driving my Itasca Spirit

OK, OK dang it. I'll figure out where my local scale is, figure out how to get weight of each corner (never done it before), and get the mfg recommended pressure for the scaled weight. ...reset the tire pressure and test drive. Personally I don't think there will be much difference with this...

Have some wandering while driving my Itasca Spirit

Hi Techies, Experts, and Wizards: Thanks for all your ideas and help. 1) I have checked the tire pressure - first thing. All good, definitely not overinflated. 2) Some these remedies mentioned are expensive and certainly altogether they would be a big chunk to swallow all at once...

Have some wandering while driving my Itasca Spirit

While driving the RV does not seem to track well . It wanders around the lane...not severely exaggerated but enough to be bothersome. It appears that the shocks may be the originals. Tires are fairly new, 2017 purchased by previous owner, lots of tread left. This is a new-to me 2000 model Winnie...
