    Which comes first?

I have one support near A/C unit because it made me feel better. I will not get on roof till I fix inside ceiling joists. Best would be a building to tear everything apart without putting tarp over roof every time it might rain.  I like the idea of pressurizing it and checking for leaks.  I...

    Are they really needed?

I am currently rebuilding ceiling joists and top plate on my fifth wheel.  Most of ceiling damage came from antenna leaking.  I believe the antenna leak happened only in freeze/thaw cycles. A lot of years with "sometimes leaks" equals a lot of dry rot.  Yesterday while still removing rotten...

    Bob's flyfishing

Hey Bob, I love flyfishing.  I fish ultralight.  I settled down to a 2 or 3 wt.  I would love to fish out west for trout. I grew up in the midwest farm country and I think there is nothing better than a bull bluegill hitting a popper.  Do you tie?  Good luck with your search for a camper. Mary

    LP Gas score!

I would go for $5.00.  ;) I have to drive 10 miles to get a bottle filled.  I usually just swap out tanks for $20.  They only put in 15 pounds so you're not getting a full tank.  I pick out the best looking bottle and try not to dwell on the 15 pound thing. Mary

    LP Gas score!

A local rental place had 20# fill ups for $10.  I took my three empty bottles(tanks??) and they filled them up.  They also re-certified them.  I'm a happy camper.  :D Mary

    Storing Propane tanks

Good information.  I was going to seal the hole in my lp storage so critters couldn't get in.  I guess I'll switch to #8 hardware cloth.  I also keep 1# bottles inside the rv.  I will put in a small box to keep them with the tanks.  As far the gas grill--well, this old girl scout will keep...

    My tow truck

cgmartin--they replaced the end of the small wire.  The splice looks good from the outside.  Heat shrink sealed.  The wire size is maybe a 10.  I still have faith in the mechanic.  Troubleshooting is a skill that every mechanic must have.  I can understand bad starters do happen. But before...

    My tow truck

Thanks for the ideas.  I replaced alternator and battery this spring (Both are from NAPA.)  I am taking the starter off to have it tested.  While I'm under there, I'll look at the cables.  I was going to start a bonding project on my truck because I am installing a Ham radio.  I know the straps...

    My tow truck

Hello, I hope this is in the right forum. Sorry if this is a bit long.  Any help will be appreciated. I have a 1997 Ford F250.  It has a 460 engine and pulls my 5th wheel like the trailer isn't there.  My problem is it won't start. I turn the key and motor thumps. I had a starter put on in...

Selling our tt / lost title

I need to move to a cheaper state.  Illinois charges $95 for a lost title.  Mary

    Installing closet rod.

I am going to install a piece of wood--say a 1x4 across the studs in the wall and then screw the closet supports to the piece of wood. Of course my camper is old enough that I won't hurt the value of my trailer. Mary

I have so HAD it with these kitchen drawers!

It really makes me mad that craftsmen(women) do a job half way.  Hanging drawers is a basic skill.  If you can't do it on the easy to install slides they make today, you shouldn't be charging money to someone for trying or learning.  Good luck with getting help from a local person. Check to see...

    Odd 20# propane cyclinder

Learn something on this board every time I visit.  I had a 20# tank last summer that wouldn't let gas out.  I played with it till this summer and finally took it and swapped it out.  $20 I didn't need to spend. :(    Next time I'll know what to do.  Thanks. Mary
