    Wet bolt suspension upgrades

Thanks for all those details as well as the pictures - very helpful to see what you went through. I do have some experience with leaf springs (working on the suspension of my old XJ (Jeep Cherokee) but I’m hopeful the bushings won’t be seized up on the RV like they were on the 100K mile Jeep...

    Wet bolt suspension upgrades

Over our last couple trips our travel trailer has developed a few loud squeaks that I hear when putting through campsites or parking in my yard. With the help of a friend rocking it back and forth by pushing on the sides, we determined that it is coming from a couple of the bushings on the the...

Solar Necessary for Boondocking w/ 12V Fridge?

While I feel this is somehow mathematically impossible, it also feels like doing so would be creating a black hole! :-D

Solar Necessary for Boondocking w/ 12V Fridge?

This thread really hits for me. I’m at the crossroads of increasing my battery bank either through lead acid or lithium. There are pros and cons for each direction and quite honestly it seems like either direction is a good move. I don’t see solar going on the roof at this time (personal...

Solar Necessary for Boondocking w/ 12V Fridge?

In this situation, will your solar panels still charge the system while you drive down the road? Or is the system built so that the solar power is blocked and only the juice from the TV is making it through as you drive?

    Flush floor slide out fix?

I was thinking similarly but only with UHMW (ultra high molecular weight) polyethylene. Often used to line the bottom of skidplates on competition rock crawlers due to how well it handles abuse and it’s high lubricating properties (slides over rocks well).

Keeping your generator secure when crashing for a few hours in a parking lot

While I appreciate everyone weighing on the merits of me even wanting to use a generator while staying in a parking lot overnight, I’m more interested the security of the generator. That said, I think I got what I needed out of the responses here. Thanks scottydl, Arch Hoagland, UTTransplant...

Keeping your generator secure when crashing for a few hours in a parking lot

I guess we don’t know for sure if or for how long we’d be running it. I’m just looking at ideas right now and haven’t even purchased the generator. I like the idea of having the smallest Honda which is the 2200i but I know for certain that I wouldn’t even want to try the A/C with that. It...

Keeping your generator secure when crashing for a few hours in a parking lot

For those that spend a night at a Walmart, Cabelas, etc, what steps do you take to keep your generator secure? We are considering an occasional 6-8 hour break at some places on a longer trip this summer and plan to have a small generator for keeping everything charged as well as the A/C...

Yet another thread about tow capabilities

I’ve been putting miles on it to prepare for towing (manual says 1000 miles of varied driving before hooking up) and turns out it’s not that bad to park. I was pretty comfortable with our last truck and this one is only a couple feet longer plus it has a backup camera!

    Slide out 'roof' awning.

There are typically 3 seals that “sweep” the water clear of the sides and top. These seals are a single rubber strip and are connected to camper and point inward towards the outer surfaces of the slide - think of them like a squeegee that lightly brushes against the slide as it moves both...

    Slide out 'roof' awning.

For the OP that may be the case, but for me I do not have an existing topper. The slide came from the factory with the brackets on the slide but not the long bracket on the side of the trailer. So I’ll need to purchase the whole thing. I’m going with Solera purely because the brackets on the...

    Slide out 'roof' awning.

Yikes. Measured and priced it out. Lippert is cheapest for the price of the 10’6” topper at $379.95, but they want $189 for shipping. Might give it a few months and then consider it again. Just finished our taxes, paid what we owed, and are taking delivery of our new TV this week. No need...
