    Batteries, Batteries, Batteries

I started with four group 27 batteries connected in series to power a 48 volt boat motor. One of them died right away so they gave me a new one in 2009. Then one died in 2012 and one in 2015 then a third in 2017. I sold the whole boat motor battery set up this summer and the lone 2008 was still...

New life for old Box Trailer

So you salvaged the axle to use it on your new trailer build. Nice job. It will be nice to have the storage.

    Refridgerator Propane vs Residential

Because resi are electric power hogs compared to propane. Propane bottle is easy compared to generating electricity Walking into our homes and flipping aswitch for grid power is dirt cheap. Creating electricity on an individual scale is much different When propane fridge we're first used...

    Nosey Camping Neighbors?

Your uncle needed one of those spring snake things that you squeeze all together and cramp it in the glovebox. :) As soon as he opens it hit the brakes, swerve, blow the horn and screen out "WE'RE ALL GUNNA DIE"

Best way to charge RV battery?

The battery tender would be a terrible way to do it and may not even keep up with the load that the RV creates just sitting there with it's basic items running. The propane fridge, monitor panel, CO detector and stereo may pull around one amp of draw. Charging through the 7 way cord would be...

    Newbie hello to all

No matter who you buy it from if you can't do an inspection to be sure it's not water damaged I'd hire an mobile RV tech etc to do an inspection. I've looked at my share of used RVs and water damage can be difficult to spot. It's very common for used rigs to get dumped on people. Remember...

    Moving

Oh heck yeah. In the fall we hit the Denver area. Stopped at the Badlands, wall drug, wasta military museum, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Rocky Mt National Park. After staying near Denver we sometimes do Moab then goblin valley, capital reef, St George, overton nv then down to the Q. After a...

    Battery Charger

A PD or other converter will do better because they hit 14.4 volts. The wfco is supposed to do 14.4 but it's usually only when the battery is very low and it won't stay there long. If you are sitting on the cord at home 13.6 is fine, if you are trying to charge with the most expensive source...

Newbie dont know the 1st thing about my rv

X2 on what Donn said. There is so much to explain that it would worth your money to pay someone for a couple hours. If it's sitting on property and connected to a septic/sewer a very important thing is to NOT leave the black tank open as you us the RV. A pile of waste will build up because...

    Our first(?) Disaster

I suppose you you could buy it from him. That would solve his problem. Do we have any takers? Anyone? Anyone want to jump in and repair it for him? Ok so one more time. Newbees, first timers, greenhorns!!!! Number one issue with RVs WATER DAMAGE. WATER DAMAGE. WATER DAMAGE. DONT FORGET IT!!!!

    Tips on buying an RV?

Good advice so far but another thing that is number one if buying used is water damage. Not that there hasn't been anyone on a forum with new RVs that are water damaged. You are very wise in coming here to ask questions first. Do not assume that just because a rig is at a dealer that it isn't...

    Our first(?) Disaster

You made the ultra mega number one mistake of buying an RV. You didn't come here and ask about buying an RV BEFORE buying an RV. They say there are two types of RV, those that have leaked and those that are going to leak. The best outcome would be for you to get your money back and move on...

    Off grid washing machine usage

You could run a 12 volt RV water pump which has a built in pressure/on/off switch.  When the washer valve called for water the RV pump would kick on, when washer valve shut RV pump would turn off. Or run a hose into your RV and tap in a faucet since washing machine has garden hose fittings
