    Drilling holes in hitch bracket

I think I'd cut off the top of the bracket to let it fit higher up.  Maybe just to where the existing holes will align (height wise) with the existing holes in the frame?  That thing is awfully low and will be dragging the ground a lot.

What is your ideal or less than ideal campground?

Those of you who have mentioned "no grilling" campgrounds/rv parks, do you just mean "no charcoal grilling" or no grilling at all?

    5th wheel hitches

Yes.  Because I was establishing base curb weight for the truck, I made sure fuel was full both times and truck empty of people, dogs, cargo, etc.

    5th wheel hitches

Yes.  It weighs exactly 300# I ran the truck through the local CAT scale the day before I installed the hitch, and then again a week or so later, with the only difference being the hitch, and the truck gained 300#, virtually all on the rear axle.

    One of my favorite videos

Those were the days.  Entertainers were entertainers, not just pretty faces surrounded by CGI whiz-bang artificial magic. Some of my best remembered movies from my youth were ones with incredibly talented dancers, musicians, etc. who also acted.  Think Fred Astaire dancing AND drumming in scenes...

    Eliminate an interior doorway

A lot of good feedback so far.  I like Goodspike's idea about possibly re-paneling the whole BR wall rather than trying to patch in a matching repair.  This is especially good if there is a pocket door to remove, as it allows that void to be filled as well.  The bath side will likely be shelving...

    Eliminate an interior doorway

In our quest for the "ideal for us" fifth wheel, we have narrowed our search considerably, but some of the trailers we have crossed off the list had only one issue that eliminated them, which is a doorway between the bedroom and the bathroom.  We do not want one. We prefer to have a bedroom...

About to "pull the trigger" on a 5th wheel

I wouldn't call a dealer "slippery" just because they can do a better deal on a financed unit as opposed to a cash sale.  (CampingWorld may be slippery, but that isn't the point here). The truth is that dealer markup in an internet-connected world where customers can shop prices nationwide and...

    5th wheel hitches

If you are trying to reduce weight, stay away from the B&W Companion slider.  It is a beast of a hitch and built like a tank, AND it weighs 300# (weighed the truck before and after install).

    5th wheel hitches

I just installed the B&W Companion slider for Ram puck system in my 2020 Ram 3500, and it was a piece of cake install.  I love the puck system.  I have a chain hoist in the garage that I can lift it out with any time I need the truck bed clear for hauling.  This is a 20K rated hitch and is built...
