    1974 Monaco Camper

Monaco Truck Campers, same company later known as Monaco Motorcoach, like Country Coach, they all started out making Truck Campers in Oregon during the 60s and 70s.  Monacos are fairly rare, given that they were only produced for a small handful of years before the company ceased production and...

Side-ways Swing away Bike racks for around $200

The glide away isn't quite the same, it uses an accordian style dual hinge which pushes the bikes back, where as the OSI unit I have swings completely away from the vehicle and to the side, it also didn't need a cable lock as it uses a large metal sandwich mechanism to clamp the bikes in place...

SHRINKING middle class + camper world

Most of our older SPs and USFS campground around the PNW were built back when Truck Campers were the main RV of choice in the area, and most are still sized as such.  RV Parks, on the other hand, have begun to cater more to the deep pocket, big rig crowd a little more with rates that match.

Side-ways Swing away Bike racks for around $200

Here's a couple pictures of the bike rack I originally had (click to see full-size).     As you may or may not be able to see, the bike's in the tipped down position were still in the way of me being able to step directly up onto the step on the hitch and into my camper.  Hence why I'm...

Side-ways Swing away Bike racks for around $200

Well, I solved this problem already :) I ended up ordering a Surco OSI DBR-300 DBR-300 Swing Reciever From amazon.com for $225 with free shipping and I found a Truck Camper Owner review by Mark W. Ingalls on the very product :).

Side-ways Swing away Bike racks for around $200

Well, I've been using a harbor freight special for hauling my bikes behind the camper for the last couple of trips and while it's worked, the straight drop down position of the bikes always required a second body to get them back up and pinned back into place and after the Eastern Oregon...

Greetings from the Redneck and his Truck Camper

Thanks all, at some point a second RV will be coming into the equation, with luck a 30 or 32' Heartland TT which will take over the job of being the full-time home and the camper will return to being the travel RV :)

Time Lord Chronicles?Friends Along the Way

I am my own Warranty.  My folks have a Thor Tahoe Toy Hauler, warranty did them very little good since it barely lasted a year and the floor in the front was completely rotted out within 2 years because of assembly and design mistakes that my parents didn't catch.  This was a brand new trailer...

Sadly, the only one with decent coverage for mobile internet is Verizon, good to hear Heartland did good by you, they're on my list of TTs to purchase as a new home for full-timing so my camper can return back to its regular job of fishing and travel :).

    Wolverine remodeling project

First thing I'd check is the seals on the outside, followed by the plumbing and electrical systems.  Given she has no bathroom sounds like an 8'er, and given the fact that she's got really limited systems, I'd say possibly late 60s, early 70s for year.

Greetings from the Redneck and his Truck Camper

Howdy everyone, like to take a moment to say hello to everyone here and thank you for allowing me to be a part of this forum :) . I found my way here by following an old-timey sailor man by the name of Sea-Jay, whose ramblings I always enjoyed. I travel around in my old Truck and Camper, I...
