Do Air Filter Gauges Indicate the True Condition of Air Filters?

RVRoamer and I spoke of the possibility of an air leak somewhere. That and the possible failure of the minder is a good reason to get another meter to double check.

Do Air Filter Gauges Indicate the True Condition of Air Filters?

gauges like that work fine if they work at all LOL. I have filter check sensors in most of my equipment. They simply check pressure (vacuum) at the inlet side of the filter and the "suction" side, then compare the "drop". Mine are set at 1" hg . the device you show in your picture is not that...

Bonding the neutral and ground wires when using a portable generator

an addition to Lou's post.... the purpose of a true disconnect in the home when using a generator is that even though the "main" breaker will disconnect the generators power from the the "grid" power, it does not disconnect the neutral, and the potential exists for power to travel over the...

Black tank smell only at 65 MPG

Can anyone say "cousin Eddie?" LOL Just kidding with ya's..

    Condensation on Pipes

Certainly sounds like condensate. Two approaches: 1. block the hole from the compartment. Outside (humid) air will most certainly cause problems when it hits a cold surface. The air gives up it's heat and as it contracts, it leaves the moisture behind. 2. Insulate the pipes / tubing  if the...

Black tank smell only at 65 MPG

I have to agree with this one. It seems that it is the tank itself that stinks not the contents.... LMAO

    RV generator

I made it in three pieces. The base, the side enclosure and the lid. The base is 3/4 plywood, the sides and lid are of aluminum sheet riveted to corner molding. The whole assembly is lined with 2" rigid duct insulation (the kind you see on duct-work and is silver in color). The fans (duct...

Black tank smell only at 65 MPG

I would try putting a spoiler behind the vent. You could cut one out of a piece of flashing. Cut a piece, make a circle to fit over the vent pipe, put a bend in it, bend the edges to support the spoiler when the air hits it, place an aircraft style clamp over the vent pipe to hold the piece in...

    RV generator

Roy, my box has two fans @ 600cfm each. One blows in and one exhausts. They both have insulated duct connected to them to cut noise. The generator actually runs about 15 degrees cooler than if in free air.

    RV generator

69 is still a little loud for a campground, but not nearly as loud as a contractors generator. Those are more like 85dba. With mine in the open (68dba) I can have a normal conversation at 15 feet or so, but I built the box for camping at a local beach reservation. With the box the campers right...

    RV generator

I have the 4400E and love it! I built a box for it to keep it quieter than stock, but stock is only 68dba at 21 feet. With the box it is 42dba. I don't know the dba rating of the one you are interested in. The engines are Honda knockoffs. the only thing I found with mine was that the breaker...

Has anyone used a 12v heater

For a heater that will have any of the necessary effect, you would need to leave the engine running. They draw a lot of current. Not practical.

Weird Helper Spring - Should I remove this?

The name kind of stuck because the type of roll that an anti "sway" bar resists is because of the change in caster / camber when the suspension is compressed or extended, especially during the movement when the wheels are steered.  The anti "sway" bar will also aid in keeping the resistive...

Weird Helper Spring - Should I remove this?

I'm not going to argue the point. I still remain with the fact that sway and roll are two different things. and when you study how the sway bar connects to the axial points of the wheel and how the spring in question connects to the suspension it is obvious what the difference in  potential for...

Weird Helper Spring - Should I remove this?

Sway and Roll are two entirely different things. And that spring will fight the movement whether up or down... it will resist compression as much as it will resist extension. Sway is side-to-side... completely different phenomenon.
