    Dash Blower

I have a 1998 Newmar Mountain Aire front Diesel. The dash blower keeps blowing the fuse. It does not matter what mode of operation it is in, heat, or AC. When I replace the fuse, it will run for approximately 20 minutes and then blow. I have looked at the motor and wiring but cant find anything...

Ready Brake, by night shift auto. Any comments

I have had one for over two years now. I tow a 2005 Jeep Wrangler behind a Newmar Mountain Aire. Have had no problems so far. Have towed it at least 20K miles. I really like the customer service from the Ready Brake folks. I had to change my tow bar set up, (to make the hitch part longer) and...

    Lowes Motor Speedway

The DW and I go every year in October for the fall race. We always stay at Yates Family Camping. It is a nice little place outside of turn two. They have power and water at the sites. Real nice folks too. We also go to Richmond for both races every year. We have a great time. Going to try and...

looking for recommendations on Cape Hatteras campgrounds

I agree with webervn. Ocean Waves is a great place to stay. The DW and I always stay there. If you are a beach driver, it is close to most of the ramps to drive on the beach.

Verizon says newer cellphones block ISP dialup

I use a Verizon phone to connect to the internet on occasion. I use the Verizon connect kit also. The one that I have just connects to the internet through Verizon. I do not use it to "dial up" AOL or any other ISP. If I want to connect to AOL, I do it through the AOL web site. You might try...

    RV's and motorcycles

I know your point about the slow speeds. We do not ride in the parade anymore. It is too hard on the old bike. Last year I believe there was about 350,000 bikes in the parade from the Pentagon to the Wall. And about as many more in D.C. just to support and watch. We go know just to show our...

    RV's and motorcycles

Gottasmilealot, The DW and I travel with the bikes and the MH. We research the campgrounds we plan to stay at. The first question we ask, is do they allow motorcycles, if not we go on to somewhere else. I do not agree with the banning by some of a completely legal sport or way of life, but it...

    RV's and motorcycles

Steve, I agree. All persons riding a motorcycle should attend the MSF course. For anyone interested, here is the website: http://www.msf-usa.org/  You can go here and put in your state and find out information about the courses available. Keep the rubber side down.

    RV's and motorcycles

We combine the tow all of the time. I have an open trailer that I put my Harley bagger on and the DW shadow. I too am a Motorcycle safety instructor here in Virginia. And I have noticed the same thing.  A lot of boomers coming back to the motorcycle world. When the DW doesn't go, I take my old...

    Diesel Puller vs: Diesel Pusher

I have an older diesel puller. It is a 98 Newmar Mountian Aire. As stated perviously in this thread, the main thing is the front noise. But, it is only noticable when the cooling fan kicks on, which isnt on very long on mine. We really like the floor plan, and that was the main deciding factor...

    1998 Newmar Mountain Aire

It is a front engine diesel. 5.9L Cummins engine (non-electronic). with an Allison AT542 transmission. Freightliner did this for a few years. The best I can find out is Newmar was the only RV manufacturer to use this chassis then. I know that Freightliner is producing them again. That is what I...

    1998 Newmar Mountain Aire

I have a 98 Mountain Air. It is on a "FRED" chassis. I was considering adding air suspension to the leaf spring and shocks. Has anyone done this, and what if any are the options? Thanks.
