What chassis?gas or diesel?air or hydralic brakes?

Would work fine.Unorthodox,but would do the job.

Could have overheated'maybe a couple metal hose clamps to hold it tight?Not so tight to distort the boiler tube or element.

The discs are great,but don't forget to grease the pin and jaws,worn pin and jaws will make a racket at every start and stop.

The dolly can have hydralic brakes[surge brakes...mine does] the car needs nothing,would be nice to have lights on the back of it.Make it legal in your home state and you are OK everywhere.My Master Tow dolly,with surge brakes works well.Get a spare tire ,jack and lug wrench.Happy canping!!!

L'm a mechanic,my recomendation is Craftsman 1/2 inch,with the big lithium battery,about 200.The better one is the Milwakee with the 5 ah lithium battery,about 350 carefully shopped.I use one at work,best you can get!

You need 3-4 lbs fuel pressure,you only need 1 pump,get a good one.Above said to check for restricted exhaust,hook up vacuum gage and check as said.Soungs like lack of fuel,work on it!

The starter on a 454 is on the passenger side with a gm trans.

This is an old problem.The starters are not good from that era.Do some research and find a new style permenant magnet starter and make a heat shield.High performance racing starter,for a big block chevy.

Are the batteries fully charged,the transmission controller has the cranking relay in it.If all batteries are ok could be bad fuse to contoller.Does the dash light up normally?

Also remember you wont see the depreciation on many used near new units.A private owner needs money to pay off loan,dealers often price used units as high as new ones.Know your price before you look at a unit

The ecm cannot crank the engine,but the t[transmission] tcm has the neutral safety switch in it.You should not have to change fluids if not contaminated,dosen't sound like water was that deep.If you are abel,unplug connectors from ecm and tcm and wash them out with WD40,thats where i would...
