    Highway 5 Coquihalla Pass closed

It is closed both ways south of Merritt due to a hazardous goods fire, alternatives are highway 1 through the Fraser canyon or highway 3. It's Victoria day long weekend so there will be lineups.

Shipping an RV across the country

What were you going to do with a 42' sail boat in Iowa? Just asking.

    No desire to fly

Planes, hotels and restaurant meals get old in a hurry. I knew people that made their living doing that but it was hard on them and their families. AIDS (Aviation Induced Divorce Syndrom) was common.

    Pacific Coast Highway

Yes. What do you need to know?

    No desire to fly

My dad was an air frame/hydraulics instructor with the RCAF during the war. He would drive five days before flying five minutes. When I asked why he replied " I am always afraid I would look out the window and see one of my former students on the ground crew. After some of the stunts those guys...

The Start of My Happy Travl'r Camper Build on a '66 Chevy 4x4

    8) The camper definitely needs freshening up, I love that truck.

    No desire to fly

Because the superior minds at the FAA have decreed so. After all, they have to be seen doing something. ::) Maybe the reasoning is that an explosive device in the hold could not be manually activated but there are certainly ways around that.

Onan 4000 generator runs but surges

I would try an inline neon spark tester available for cheap at most auto parts stores. Watch the bulb when the engine falters, if the color changes to yellow or quits the problem is ignition. If nothing happens it could be fuel delivery, possibly a control board or wiring problem that is...

Truck to tow a 30' Arctic Fox TT

X2 We made the mistake of going with a marginal tow vehicle, it was not a pleasant experience. Mileage was terrible, it struggled on the hills and windy days were terrible. We now have a 2500 with the diesel which may not be suitable for your needs but we love it. A four door with a fold down...

    RVing days over

Thanks for all the hugs, we sure can use them. We are going to try a couple of short trips this year to see if she can manage, she has her heart set on going. A few adjustments will need to be made.

Probably will be deleted or blocked

Nope to judway ;D We own an old rv that has served us faithfully and although DW initially felt intimidated by the high dollar rigs we have met some the friendliest folks on the planet. Nobody has been condescending and we have had immediate offers of assistance when needed. It has been the same...

Best routing from Portland, OR to Eureka, CA

We enjoyed 18 once we got clear of metro Portland, the Evergreen museum at McMinnville would be worth a visit if you are into that kind of thing. 26 would also be a good bet bringing you to Cannon Beach, it is spectacular. It would be a shame to miss part of the coast.

Brag Board - Children and Grandchildren

My wife came with four granddaughters, a fifth has since arrived. There better not be any greats yet, the oldest is fifteen. ;D

    Post a joke

The English language is really something isn't it? ;D My buddy's son wanted to get his cdl but was really worried. He went through school in a period when they were not taught traditional spelling, apparently they had some new age system that used the sound of the word so your post would be lost...

Where do you keep your keys??

DW locked herself out the vehicle and waited over an hour for roadside assistance. I later asked why she didn't use the hidden key, the look on her face was priceless. ;D We hid one after dumbdawg jumped on the door switch at a gas station.
