    Chassis batteries are not charging

Thank you, we have some good leads. We turned everything on to start working on it again before I go back to my 12 hour work days tomorrow... We also had an appointment to bring it to a shop for a CA smog test... but today the starter went out. We'll have to work on that before we can move...

    Need Help With Charging System

Thank you Clay. There is a picture of the converter at the link in the starting post, it is a "Sentinel charger." Someone else in here told me that the house batteries were the "chassis" batteries because the house sits on the chassis. I give up trying to use the correct words, I'm going for...

    Chassis batteries are not charging

OK weewun... THANK YOU FOR RESPONSE... the charge of the batteries reads 12.9.. when unplugged and switched off as well as when plugged in and switched on. So, I believe it is not supplying charging voltage.. or it's wired wrong. I have another thread with a picuture link, I'll post it here at...

Yes, this is Deanna; my hubby & I work as a team... I'm better at the brain work and he's better at the muscle work... together we make a great team. Thank you for trying to help Porky. Yes, when we are plugged in (or running the generator) the interior lights work brightly. The battery...

    Need Help With Charging System

Scenario: 88 Fleetwood Bounder. On our last trip the batteries slowly died. We were hooked up to shore power & running generator at different times but they were not charging. I have two 12v deep cycle marine batteries, new. Checked with voltmeter - when plugged in the voltage does not go up...

    Chassis batteries are not charging

Thank you, yes, they are deep cycle marine batteries. They are not losing a charge too quickly, but rather just never getting charged at all. I've been trying to post but I can't seen to attach my picutures. I'm working on it.

    Chassis batteries are not charging

It's the weekend and we have to look at it, trying to see what we can do with it. We've tried/looked at what everyone here suggested. I'm starting the topic on a new thread "need help with charging system" to see if I can't get some new replies. Any of you that were helping, it would be great...

    Chassis batteries are not charging

ChassisHOUSE batteries. I knew what I was thinking but not what I was typing...  :o Both the generator and the electric hook-up are getting power to the the rig. When plugged in to shore power, and/or when generator is on, the outlets, microwave, and TV's work.., so it is getting power from...

    Chassis batteries are not charging

So we went up to Portland; 1st night was dry camping. Chassis batteries are brand new, we had been using lights and water pump, and the chassis batteries monitor showed the battery condition on the low side of "good". Ran the generator for 20 minutes and it was not changing at all so we shut it...

    Looking for cold weather tips

We are back from our trip... we never had to call AAA but we started to and cancelled... twice. Once when our engine battery went too low to re-start the engine even though we only shut it off for about 15 minutes (daylight, and we forgot to turn off lights and inverter with a phone charging)...

    Looking for cold weather tips

Thanks Bob... Good tip... we thought about that too and today we were going over basics... checking headlights. windshield wipers, and basic systems.. and the heater was not working. We had to work on the heater for over an hour before it would start. The scary part is we're still not sure why...

First trip where we will stop to sleep w/out hook-ups... battery questions.

Thank you all, this is good information and very helpful. The house batteries are two deep-cycle 12v, they are brand new. The generator does start from inside off the house batteries. The prior owners left some silver window covers for all the windows and the top vents, they look just like an...

First trip where we will stop to sleep w/out hook-ups... battery questions.

Hi, I'm Deanna. I'm nervous about this trip we're about to take on Thanksgiving. We've taken a few trips in our RV but always in warm weather and always to a place with hookups or just for a few short hours. We're going to Oregon and it's going to be very cold at night. So now I'm realizing...

    Looking for cold weather tips

We're driving up North to visit family in Oregon. It's not supposed to snow.. but we may see a dusting. Forecast is for lows in mid 30's. We've never stayed in the motorhome in weather below 50 or so.., so we're just looking for tips. Anything you've got.., from technical fun warming tips. From...
