Upgrade manual crank jacks to electric?

Oh yeah, I see that TC reference now, I feel for the photo of the trailer...Oh well..........................

    Let's talk about propane

I have never seen the need to have a gauge on my propane cylinders. I'm with Gary, seems like an overkill to redesign a propane system. I try to leave on trips with full cylinders .When my auto changeover regulator shows a red flag I know the first cylinder is empty and about how long I have to...

    Emergency escape window

Our escape window in our old trailer was behind the sofa. In our new trailer it is behind (I should say over the top in both cases) the double recliner chairs. It seems easy to me to climb over the furniture and get out the window, especially in an emergency. In a fire I would have to decide...

Upgrade manual crank jacks to electric?

I agree that my battery drill motor works just fine with a stabilizer jack socket adapter. Some other tips: If you stack up some boards for feet, like shown in an above post, the trailer will be more stable. The further you crank down your stabilizer jacks that less stable your trailer will be...

    Best Blocks?

I like solid boards or any kind of solid feet for tongue, stabilizer jack or 5er nose feet. I do not like the plastic honeycomb type jack/stabilizer feet that can crack and can sink in soft ground...although lots of people use those. Just my personal choice and recommendation to people that ask.

    Weight towards back on trailer.

In addition to maintaining the proper tongue weight (10%+ of the trailer loaded weight) and not going over the trailer max gross weight you need to consider the smell of the generator. I had friends that carried their generator in an outside compartment of the trailer just to travel to the...

    Past My Prime

Oh good...fish stories, here's one I like to tell. We live on a canal where we catch bass, crappie, white perch, yellow perch, channel cats and more. My neighbor had a thirty-six foot fishing boat that we use to fish offshore in the ocean with. On one trip offshore we came back with 6 blue-fin...

    Small town humor

I have seen that same sign in a few towns. One sign in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia Read X number of good people and two old buzzards. I got a kick out of a home made sign in Woodbine, GA in front of a store. It was on a 4 X 8 Sheet of plywood and looked like it was written with a spray...

    Propane stoves/grills

Am I missing something here or is "TheBar" mistaken? A TT uses a two-stage propane regulator. The first stage drops the gas pressure from the propane cylinder to about 10 PSI. The second stage of the regulator drops the pressure to 11 to 14" water column...which is about 0.4 PSI...less than 1/2...

    Dual Propane Tank Question

I am always amazed at how many people have auto switching regulators and still leave one cylinder valve closed...even when they know about the auto function! I asked a friend why he did that and his answer was that he wanted to know when the first cylinder ran out. Well, he got what he...

Grand Design 27RL factory TV mounting - how does it come away from the cabinet?

I'm not sure that your TV isn't different from mine as to the mounting. I have a different new model Grand Design TT. My TV is on a telescoping mount. There is a short roller on the back of the TV that snaps into a clip. You have to pull the TV pretty hard (scary to me) to get the TV to pull out...

    Dual Propane Tank Question

Gary...What bothers me when I see someone here post, or I read in articles online, in magazines and even in some trailer manuals, that you should always open your propane cylinder valves "very, very slowly" Is the fact that doing that can be dangerous or at lest cause some problems. I have...

    Dual Propane Tank Question

Yes, the "Pigtail" hose devices can fail but the failure mode is usually a gas leak at the swivel fitting where the hose connects to the regulator. Any device with moving parts can fail but I haven't seen a "Pigtail" fail and shut off the propane flow. The test above that Rene T described seems...

    Dual Propane Tank Question

Some additional info: When opening the service valves on the propane cylinders you should open them all the way. This will seat the shaft seals and prevent a possible shaft gas leak. The plastic hand tightened nuts on the propane "pigtail" hoses that connect to each cylinder is to be snugged...

    Dual Propane Tank Question

What you have is an auto switching regulator. There should be a lever or knob on the regulator where you can select which cylinder is to be the service cylinder (cylinder being used). When the service cylinder gets very near empty the regulator will switch to use the other cylinder and the...
