Cellular Coverage, Prince William Forest Park, VA

This is a little late, you may already be there, but I work at Quantico and train SAR dogs in PWFP quarterly. I also have Verizon and have no issues at all in the park with phone or my 3G Mobile Hotspot/Laptop. PWFP is located in the middle of surrounding towers which support Quantico and places...

Pop up tent trailor for Jeep Cherokee

I had a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee in a V8 and had no problem towing a Coleman Rio Grande pop up. I don't believe electric brakes were available on this model camper. But, I had no problems. Ya, the mountains were tough, thank heavens for two lane uphills.  :D

MPG on a 1/2 ton Suburban towing a popup trailer?

Ditto. I tow a 16 foot Cub hybrid. Maybe one or two miles to the gallon less?

    Jeepers Jamboree

We were regulars at Camp Jeep here in Nelson County, Virginia for four years in a row. It was a three day event. Like a Jamboree on steriods. But, they haven't held a Camp Jeep in about 5 years due to the decline in the economy and automotive industry. Camp Jeeps were fun, trail rides, new...

Lucked out on Saturday, RV break in.

Yes, when my soft cover Jeep Wrangler was broken into, they slashed the soft cover right next to the zipper. Not easy to replace, since most dealers/manufacturers require you to buy the whole top.

    Travel Warning

When I was in the military we used to get travel warnings to avoid certain unfriendly countries. Here is a travel warning I am issuing for  - Washington DC, our Capitol. Not RV friendly. Notice how they dumped his entire contents in the street. I bet he was not a happy camper...

NO Dogs in New Hampshire State Parks or Beaches or Cemeteries

A lot of the State Parks that allow dogs in the campgrounds, turn around and won't allow them on trails or other common grounds like picnic areas and lakes. And to top it all off, they have rules forbidding pets to be left alone at your camp site. Go figure.

Young guy considering going full time in a few years...lots of questions.

Wasn't it Trapper John MD, who had the assistant doctor who lived in a motorhome in the hospital parking lot? Ah, to be young again and starting over. Unfortunately, several here are correct. I doubt you'd save money.

Do people sit or lay down in travel trailers as they go down the road?

I'm going to assume (no jokes please), that you meant RV instead of TT, in which case my reply would be to sit only in seats with belts. Having said that and never owning a Class A, B, C; does anyone (other than the person driving) go in the back and lay down for a nap?

    crap!!!!!!!!!!!

I once, as a teen, took a 21' whaler off the coast of SC to fish, after leaving the second fuel tank sitting in the 7-11 parking lot. That was an Oh Crap Day! Got towed back by another friendly fisherman. All's well that ends well.

    EZ pass/ Sun Pass use

I've used EZ Pass for years here in the mid-Atlantic area and trips to NE, but I swear I was able to use it a couple of years ago in the Orlando area. Am I imagining this?

    Stuff getting stolen

Ya, the way I look at it is, you can strap it or lock it, but it will be gone in 1 to 3 minutes either way, if they really want it.

    Carrying Bikes

I've been considering the same thing, but only have two bikes. I have a 2" hitch mount bike carrier I use when I am not towing. I did find a dual hitch (over/under) 2" extension (see link, if I can load it). Has anyone tried this technique? I have a small light TT so the 400 lb tongue max should...

Yamaha EF2400iS Generator will not run 13?500 AC

I went by this chart on the Yamaha site when I purchased my EF3000iSE. I wanted to make sure a 13,500 BTU A/C would have no problem since that was the main reason I wanted a generator. http://www.yamaha-motor.com/outdoor/generator/application.aspx
