Info on F150 and slide camper

I would almost be tempted to figure out how to mount the truck camper to a utility trailer, and tow it. It may look funny, but it will get you within the tow specs of the truck.

How to handle the "camping boom"

Some great ideas here. Really like the idea of Sunday through Wednesday. May have to dig into this idea a bit more. As for changing dates, easily. It doesn't seem to happen. When you check on the Ohio website, things are just booked solid.

How to handle the "camping boom"

Hey guys! Love the new software on the forum! How have you guys handled the "camping boom". We are weekenders, and typically will camp Friday, Saturday and come home Sunday. We receive my wife's work schedule 6 weeks in advance. This used to be plenty of time for us to plan camping trips...

Is this normal in these odd times?

I'm not sure exactly what's going on with campsite reservations, but as a weekender, I can tell you that here in ohio, I have been unable to find a site available in a state park. I don't know if people are actually showing up for these reservations, but its frustrating, not even being able to...

Thank you for the link Gary. I ended up going with the Camco 36. I think the stand up style will work better with out dumping location.

    portable dump tote

It will just need to go from my driveway to sanitary line at home. I'm unable to pull the camper up to the clean out. I was looking at the barker 42 gallon.

Hey guys, I'm looking for suggestions on a portable dump tote. The barker looks nice, but does it warrant the cost?

    2016 Silverado 1500 reliability

I had a 16' silverado crew cab 4x4. 5.3, 3.42s. I pulled a rockwood 2509s with it. Dry weight is 5100. GVWR is 7k and 26ft long. With my hitch setup properly, E rated tires and a good brake controller, It was a handful. Wind pushed it around bad. I would advise again a 1500. As for...

Another F-150 question - new guy...

I did the very same thing you were doing. I purchased a trailer that was within specs on paper but really pushing the payload. We made the purchases (truck and trailer) and went on our first trip. By the time we returned home, any relaxation that i'd gained while camping was long gone and so was...

    rockwood 2509s brake issue

I will check the left and right side to verify. Good thinking. The tekonsha is a very nice proportional brake controller, and I already had it on hand and opted to use it vs spending more money. I should have rephrased my statement. Yes its an option, but the XL typically doesn't come equipped...

    rockwood 2509s brake issue

My trucks just the XL model, so it does not come equipped w a controller. I had the tekonsha from my Silverado , so I just swapped it over.  What do you mean reversed side to side?

    rockwood 2509s brake issue

I spun all the wheels. None of them have any drag. Upon starting this project , I expected to find the one getting hot adjusted too tight. I was slightly baffled upon discovering this.

    rockwood 2509s brake issue

I have a 2019 rockwood 2509s. Pulling with a 19' F250. Tekonsha p3 brake controller. My drivers side rear wheel on the trailer is locking up. Wheel spins free when off the ground. No resistance. Pulled hub apart, backed the adjuster off a bit. Checked grease in bearings. reassembled. same deal...
