    Solar panels

I used both flexible and solid panels on my sailing catamaran.  The mast and rigging would sometimes shade all of my hard panels so I would temporarily put a couple flexible panels on the deck as I had wiring set up to do that. The flexible panels were therefore almost always in storage. One of...

Leveling Jack Alert Goes Off While Driving

Yes, same thing on our 2015 Sightseer, I just turn it off as it is a nuisance. I'm taking it in for warranty next month for other issues and it will be on the list of issues.

    Thinking about a 2015 Sunova 35G. Thoughts?

We bought a 35G Sightseer in Tuscon a few months ago.  While doing a cross country multiyear trip, the Winnebago 32 1999 with no slides got really small. The washer-dryer are a real plus and the layout on the 35G Sunova's look similar to this one (they are all different).  Have the king sized...

    Norcold - L1-oP error code

You should have seen a red LED on the switch. We had just replaced the cooling unit and received an alarm.  The people who replaced the cooling unit came out and replaced the switch.  This was all warranty work as we bought a 5 year warrenty when we bought the 2015 Winnebago.  This repair...

Buying a solar system for 5th wheel.

I know little about RV solar considerations but I know a great deal about wintering over on a sailboat for months at a time which is probably a great deal more off grid than 99% of the RV boondockers.  For that reason I have been reading Bob's entertaining AND informative Wordpress stuff Bob...

    Ipad App

We have 2 IPADS and I think this is the way to go based on the comments I see here.  We are now planning our first RV trip this summer from Fl to Maine. (In the cold months the RV is in storage in central Fl and we are sailing in the keys or further south.  I have a GARMIN boat nav APP that I...

    Electrical Problem please help

From your question, I would say the first thing you need to do is get a good handle on basic AC circuits. Spend some time on the web or get a basic circuits book from the library for example. Before you do any more smoke tests, make sure you understand a basic AC circuit.  Once you feel...

Step goes in and out every time I open the door. Any clue why or how to fix?

Turn off the ignition switch Open the door, observe the steps go out Open the knife switch next to the engine starting battery Now the steps will stay out until you close the knife switch.  Opening the knife switch will allow you to live with this until you fix the root cause.

ANY HAM RADIO OPERATORS HERE ?

WE4i here. Just getting an ICOM 7100 set up on HF on a sailing catamaran.  It's quite easy to use it on 2 meters (including star) with the VHF antennas already aboard but there is some challenge to getting a decent installation on HF. The sailboat is now in the Fla Keys for the winter season. ...

I stand educated.  I don't have access to the RV now but pictures of one tire shows 4308 they should be good enough to transport it from the Fla Keys to storage location until We can replace the tires before our first voyage this summer. Space here is at a big $$ premium in the winter Now to...
