    Mandolin for Christmas?

Long-time guitar player here, and I?d encourage any guitarist who?s looking for a new and interesting challenge to get a mandolin if at all possible. Just a very cool instrument and perfect for traveling and blending with a guitar... you know, like at an RV Park! Easy to learn a handful of...

New mandolin to bring with me

I always have a guitar with me on our RV trips and my wife doesn?t mind me playing as much as I want. Just got a new (used) Collings MT-O mandolin though that I?ll also be bringing with me. I?ve played mando on and off for a decade or so and am playing it (?rhythm? only, so far!) in my band...

    Customs seized my guitar

Like we need more reasons to avoid buying Chinese-made anything.

Old diesel motorhome been sitting for years

WAY too many unknowns in that scenario for my taste!

Replacing front Class C seats with swivel seats

    Nope, not yet!

    comfort on the road

I'm a solo performer (guitar & vocals) and don't really use our Class C as a tour vehicle, but I do occasionally work a gig into a planned recreational trip for my wife and me. A much simpler set-up of course than you probably have with a band set-up; I always have a guitar with me either way...

Hey electricians: any help with this step-wiring issue?

Well all I know is that the steps worked fine when we had the dealer take them off and disconnect everything, and what I found here, wiring-wise, was a little perplexing and hardly just an obvious "reconnect." I'm tired of screwing with it; I guess we'll just pay their ransom. I appreciate the...

Hey electricians: any help with this step-wiring issue?

Thanks so much for your attention on this, Gary. I don't recall right now what brand of steps we have but the diagram below is what my dealer sent me to try to help (I think it's a generic diagram!). Also attaching a photo of our steps and wiring. Dealer said the purple wire does not apply to...

Hey electricians: any help with this step-wiring issue?

I?m not sure if the two white wires are the same gauge ? I think they are. I do remember the unconnected white and brown wires being different gauges though, I?m sure. I thought that was curious. And the in-line splices were done either by them or the factory, and are crimp-type connectors as I...

Hey electricians: any help with this step-wiring issue?

Our dealership removed the steps and what you see here reflects what I found underneath. It was quite a wrestling match to get the steps into position, all by myself, onto the downward-pointing mounting bolts, by the way (it ain?t light!), so then I thought it would be easy sailing after that...

Hey electricians: any help with this step-wiring issue?

I'm no electrician, but even this job seemed simple enough -- but it wasn't. We had our motorized step taken off when we got our new Nexus motorhome last fall -- thought it wasn't really needed -- but of course we kept it to put it back on if we wanted to. Well now we want to (!), and the dealer...

    Music at campsites

I'm a regularly-gigging solo musician -- and I AGREE! I'll definitely be playing my guitar when we're camping, even outside. But it'll be very low volume (conversation level) and I wouldn't think of playing so loudly that it would bother our neighbors....

    Nosey Camping Neighbors?

This gives me an idea to look up the name of some really nasty dude in your region who recently got out of prison, preferably with a distinctive name, and put some kind of inexpensive name plaque with THSAT name on it, near your entry door or wherever else it might be seen... They might wish...

    Just an extension cord!

New motorhome shelter -- just in time!

That was the worst of it, fortunately. Virtually all gone now. Longest we've had snow stick around here, in my memory, and the third-coldest February ever here, apparently.
