    Total Eclipse 2024?

Carbondale IL and Southern Illinois University were identified as the center line for the eclipse in '17 as well as the one in '24. I'm not sure what may happen this time but in '17, many news and weather related agencies set up camp and broadcasted from this area. On the day of the event and...

    Total Eclipse 2024?

Still looking like my back porch in Southern Illinois might be one of the best places in the country for viewing.

    What Did You Watch Today?

I watch a couple episodes of Blue Bloods almost every evening. I don't think I will ever tire of it.

    Electronic critter chasers

We give a couple dozen of them a free ride South every year. Don't know they're in the camper until it warms up and they start congregating in the bathroom skylight

Is about 500 miles doable in a day?

I've heard of a similar saying, called the 330 rule. Regardless if its 330 miles or 330 in the afternoon, it's time to be getting off the road.

    The RVForum Solar Eclipse Thread

We're staying home in Southern Illinois. We were in the center of the path on the last one and will be again for this one. Weather was perfect for viewing last time and we'll just have to wait and see for this next one.

    ALWAYS HAPPENS TO ME

I know all repair jobs don't give you the option, but if I can, I never start one in the late afternoon or on a weekend. It always seems that the simple 30 minute repair turns into an ordeal when an extra unexpected part needs replaced and your local store is closed.

    Door County, WI

Just a few miles South of Door County, but to me, was worth some of my time to visit. It is the only site of a Marian apparition in America. During the Peshtigo fire of 1871, the deadliest recorded wildfire in America, people took refuge inside the chapel and they and the grounds survived the...

    SCS. (spinal Cord Stimulator)

I can see where this procedure could help. Approx 10 yrs ago I was having a lot of trouble with a nerve in my neck and left shoulder. Herniated discs in my neck was suspected to be the problem. My doctor sent me to two different Neurologists that both wanted to do surgery. I wanted to avoid...

Anyone use wood pellets in the fire pit

You need a fire pit designed to burn wood pellets to get air under them like Rene T said. I used to have a fire pit called a Flame Genie. Made a beautiful campfire but I got tired of packing it around.

    Our camp mascot

Had a GSD as a partner when I was a patrolman and we have another now that was a rescue. You won't find a more loyal companion. They can also be very protective so acclimate them with other animals and strangers. Also be aware that some RV parks do not allow GSDs along with some other breeds.

    Commercial RV Parks

In our area, COE parks are probably the best sites a person could want. Large, paved, shaded, paved patio, firepit, picnic table, lantern holder, FHU..... Just really nice sites for $26 a night or $13 with senior discount. The problem is that they are always packed and have gotten very hard to...

Would you pay $10,000 (or more) to see Taylor Swift in concert??

    Is this an option?? 🤣

    Shouldn't have waited

Have a factory installed TPMS on our '21 Cedar Creek and it never gave any indication of a problem until after one of the tires blew. Pressures and temps were within limits when the tire just blew. While changing it I found a large bubble on the sidewall of another tire. Rv now has Goodyear...
