    RV rental required.

Hello all! My wife and me are coming to New York on 8th June 2009, for around 30 days. We intend to have a couple of days in NYC, then we have a wedding to attend in Poughkeepsie. Now, the question is, do you know where l can rent a nice RV, around 30ft, somewhere in New York state for 2 weeks...

    Which 5th wheel?

Thanks for your info, l do get trailer life from time to time, and its a good publication. l will study it more in depth regards weight ratings. Is a genny essential for boondocking? or wild camping as we call it.  :)

    Which 5th wheel?

Yes, you are right. Thank you for your reply and l am getting some good feedback. l am not blowing a fuse, so apologies to anyone who thought so. l do like the idea of a fifth wheel, and some l have seen, (even at a dealer in the UK), they seem a sensible way to see the world. And you have means...

    Which 5th wheel?

Thanks lan for your info, l will look at Cedar Creek and get back to you. l am a little disappointed at some peoples perception of the roads over here. l have said before that l have hauled a 50ft truck and trailer all over the UK, Europe, and even the Middle East if we want to get serious. l...

    Which 5th wheel?

J HarpJ, There are plenty of parks that can easily accommodate RVs over here, UK and Europe have vast amounts of RV friendly parks nowadays. We have RV services at more and more parks than ever before, but, l would like to do more wildcamping than stay on parks. regards Craig.

    Which 5th wheel?

Carl L, 33ft is not a large vehicle over here, in the Town where l live there are 40ft double deck buses and truck trailers(40ft trailers) hauling out of the small docks we have here. So, no problem. Have a look at Ramsey, isle of Man, British Isles, on Google earth. Just because it looks small...

    Which 5th wheel?

Good Heavens! l didnt think l would get so many responses this quickly. Now, l have held a class 1 truck (artic) licence since 1971, so l know exactly how large a vehicle can be moved around the UK and Europe, l live on an island and there are 40ft truck trailers hauled around here OK. l did say...

    Which 5th wheel?

Hi all! heres one for you, l have decided that l would like to buy a fifth wheeler, as opposed to an A or C class. Now then, l would like one up to 33ft, and intend to do a lot of wild camping,in Europe, boondocking l think you call it. l live in the UK, and intend to buy one over in the States...

Driving a motorhome on the wrong side of the road

Only just seen this article, but, l live in the UK, and having been a truck diver for many years l would like to comment. I have had experience of both right hand drive and left hand drive trucks, and have spent many, many years driving in the UK, (drive on the left), and driving in...

    Importing to the UK

Thats food for thought Ian, l am sure there is a way round this. When l get to the importing stage, l am sure l will have all the info to do it without throwing away thousands of pounds in tax. Craig.

    Importing to the UK

Hi there! l was wondering if anyone could tell me if l have to pay VAT on an RV bought in the US, and imported to the UK, as l am disabled, (leg amputee). Just thought someone may have come across this before. l get conflicting reports over here. One tax person informed me that l wouldn't pay...
