    Pre-2013 Diesel PUs

IMO, DEF is the best thing to happen to diesel engines that have a particulate filter(2007- up). My 2011 Ford runs much better than the 2007.5 Dodge and 2009 Ford that didn't require DEF. My 2011 Fords exhaust pipe is as clean as the day I bought the truck. It also gets much better mileage as it...

    GMC Sierra HD 4wd 2500 V8 and Lance 865

https://www.truckcampermagazine.com/buyers-guide/hard-side/lance-camper/ They say wet weight is 2897 including 500lbs of stuff.

    Value of used Electric Jacks

110 volt only jacks would be practically useless for camper.

    Camper supports

I think you may have some structural problems. My cab over is huge and I have no problems. You want the cab over to be free move up and down. If you stabilize the cab over with bump stops, what will that do to the roof of your truck? Generally speaking, you want your camper to be able to move a...

    Host Cascade

So, I guess Dodge DRW's don't come with a sway bar as standard equipment. Ford DRW's come standard with a sway bar. I have a larger camper than either of you guys and I experience no sway with my camper and my boat in tow. Don't know if having a sway bar is the reason. I live a couple of miles...

    newbie concerned

The 450 will tow more weight than a 350.The 450 also has 19" G rated rated tires that can carry much more weight, better brakes and a tighter turning radius. The heavier tires and larger differentials weigh more, thus reduce payload.

    newbie concerned

Since the OP mentioned the 11,500 GVW and 18-20" wheels, he is talking about an SRW. The OP didn't mention gas or diesel, the gas engine will give you a little better payload. The OP also said the wet weight was only 500lbs more than the dry weight. Rule of thumb is to add 1000lbs over the dry...

Truck Camper for a full hookup

I would just add that if the camper has a basement, putting blocks under the basement won't help with the floor, as the floor is not connected to the basement. Blocks under the basement will help with stability though.Wobble stoppers connected to the front jacks will also help with stability...

    Unloading a T/C at a campsite

I take my camper off the truck all the time, especially because it is much easier to launch my jet boat without the camper.I have one the largest campers made and I have no problems using just the jacks. I lower the camper as close to the ground as I can, with the nose up a little. My camper has...

    Lowering a TC

Not bragging, just stating how I and most people I know do it.

    Lowering a TC

By pushing a button on the remote. Most modern campers have a wireless remote. You can raise/lower 1,2,3 or all 4 jacks in a combination you want. This makes loading/unloading much easier and quicker and you can walk around the camper/truck while doing so to keep an eye on things.

    Lowering a TC

I raise/lower all 4 jacks at the same time. When I take it off the truck, I will adjust each jack individually to level it up when close to the ground.

    "RV" Insurance for Truck Campers?

I have a rider on my State Farm policy and the camper only adds $200/year. Plus it is also insured when off the truck.
