" fan only comes on when the engine temp exceeds 205F OR when the air conditioner is running." Maybe I'm wrong, but the way I read that is, when you turn on the air, it also turns on the fan. I think he might be saying that the fan don't come on when a/c is turned on.

Some of the 5.9's of that era were made in Brazil. You don't want a cracked block, which they are known for. I have been doing the same research.
