Roadtrek Popular 190 Generator Relocation and Sway Bar Install

Three videos to relocate the generator (I suggest 4" back now that I've done it, not 3-1/4") and install a Hellwig 7635 rear sway bar.  I had the van on the road for 8 hours this weekend and the swaybar did not hit the generator exhaust despite some rough roads but there will probably be issues...

    Help need choosing an Inverter

Grassy:  You will want to test the CPAP to see if it needs a "true sine wave" inverter or if it can get by with a "modified sine wave" like walmart probably sells.  The CPAP should have some markings on it somewhere that indicates how many Watts it uses.  That will be required to size your...

    Help need choosing an Inverter

Venting is definitely required.  The 1/2" plywood seals the batteries from the coach and there is venting on the side of the van for them.  I just need to notch the wood so I can bring the cables out to the inverter, that has not been done yet but will be.  You do not want the Hydrogen filling...

    Help need choosing an Inverter

Hi Jim,   We drive our van every day we are on vacation so we would just use the alternator to recharge the batteries.  We could even run the van to keep the voltage up while making coffee if necessary, time will tell. Link to some photos: ...

Looking for quiet water pump for Class B

Thank you for all the replies,   It turns out the pump is an older 2.8 GPM ShurFlo so the newer pumps aren't as much of an overkill as I thought.    The pump does have some rubber mounts but I imaging they are hard as a hockey puck being 25 years old.  I'll have to order up a newer ShurFlo...

Looking for quiet water pump for Class B

Hi all,   The pump that came in our 1991 Roadtrek sounds like a jackhammer and is located against the bed so I am interested in replacing it.    Can anybody recommend a low pressure low volume pump that is quiet?  All we use the water in the van for is washing our hands and flushing the toilet...

    Help need choosing an Inverter

I wound up buying a Samlex PST-2000-12 Inverter and RC-200 control screen.  They have been in the business for a long time so it seemed like a good bet. I used a 2' and 3' length of 2/0 DLO cable to hook things up and it worked with a 1500W blower heater.  I only ran the heater for a minute but...

Where is the fusebox for appliances on 91 Chevy Roadtrek?

My 1991 Dodge Roadtrek has everything on the driver's side of the van.  There will be a combo breaker panel / fuse panel / charger.  It will be down low in the rear past the kitchen/bathroom.  Reset all of the breakers in that panel to get your receptacles working.  If you have the original...

    Help need choosing an Inverter

Hi all! This thread has some really good information so I thought I would try to bring it back to life rather than start the whole discussion over again. I have a 1991 Roadtrek Class B with two Trojan T-105 batteries and I want to get a 2000W inverter for it.  Why?  To make coffee with a...

Hi all - Steve in Eastern Ontario

Hi again,   I am in the Pembroke area so not too far from the Thousand Islands or Montreal.  We are still trying to figure out where we are going to go this year so just plugging away at the van.  Last year we toured the Gaspe and I took in down to North Carolina for a weekend to tow back a car...

    Conversion wants vs. needs

I would think curtains and a power roof fan would be very important.  We use them every night. Cheers, Steve

Hi all - Steve in Eastern Ontario

Hi all!   I joined the forum to find out about deep cycle batteries so I thought I'd say hello!  I have a 1991 Dodge 250 Roadtrek Class B van with the Versatile layout.  The Group 24 12V coach battery was less than reliable near the end of the last season and didn't fair the winter so it is...
