    FrontAirLifts

Greetings everyone; I read a lot about installing airbags to assist factory installed suspensions.  However, I don't see much about installing front air bags.  When are front air lifts appropriate?  Would they help much with a truck camper rig?

Greetings: Has anyone seen the new 1040?  Good, bad, any comments?  How about the 971? Thanks, Mike

    Camper Jack Question

Yah, Bill I think you are probably right.  They look a little clunky hanging off the side of your camper.  So, if you really have no plans to use them during a trip...I just thought, maybe....but I guess not.  I tend to over-think most projects. Thanks, to all.

best camper for 05 gmc crew cab long bed 3/4 ton 4x4

I just bought a 2500HD with the Duramax diesel engine.  Looking at Lance.  Really like the model 1055.  It has a dry bath and lots of space.  I also like S&S truck campers.  Very limited dealers in the Midwest so not a lot of options.  Probably going to stay away from a unit with slides to keep...

    Bathroom Wet or Dry

I ended up buying a 2500HD Chevy for my truck, so I need to be careful about my camper weight. My wife and I have always said that we would not want a wet bath.  Cleanup was our primary concern.  Now, in order to cut out some weight, we are revisiting the issue.  If, under normal circumstances...

"camper on fire" what a sobering concept!

    Camper Jack Question

You make a good point about emergencies.  I had planned to take them with me and simply reinstall in the case of emergency.  That is why I asked how easy it was to take on and off.  I suppose storage space would be a real issue also if I take them off.  I know it is stupid, but they look so...

    Camper Jack Question

Greetings Everyone. Assuming that you do not plan to remove your camper during a trip, can the electric leveling jacks be removed (conveniently) from a truck camper while you are traveling?

NYSE: Fleetwood delisted, Monaco not in compliance

Greetings: Just curious.  What do you think Fleetwoods' chances are of coming back from their current financial problems?  An old marketing theory says that in a difficult market, you want to be either the biggest or the smallest company.  If that is true, we can expect Winnebago to come back...

    Truck Camper News

Can anyone tell me where I can find information on the various truck camper manufacturers?  Getting ready to buy, and would like to have a better feel for who is doing well, and who has major problems. I am specifically interested in Lance and S&S. Thanks, Mike

    Marine Equipment

I just bought a new automatic battery charger in anticipation of a fishing trip to Ontario.  The instructions say that the battery must be removed from the boat before charging.  I have never done that before.  Does charging batteries in the boat represent a REAL danger?

    Fishing Campsites

This is your opportunity to contribute to the well-being of a future RVer.    I would like to develop a discussion about  specific campsites acrossed the country that are close (say within one mile) of quality fishing opportunities.  In a couple of years, when we are able to get out on the road...

    Keeping chassis batteries charged up

I am back.  The article Tom referred me to says, "The equalization process, which should only be done on flooded wet cell batteries, involves applying a controlled over-voltage (14-17V) to the batteries while limiting the current. "  What does "while limiting the current" mean and how is it...

    Keeping chassis batteries charged up

OK, OK...I got your point.  Thanks for the tips.  I will get back to you with any follow-up questions. Mike

    Keeping chassis batteries charged up

I asked Ron this question privately but he insisted that I make my ignorance known to all... You guys talk about equalizing your batteries.  I looked in the glossary and can not find that term.  What does it mean, how do you do it and how often? Thanks, Mike
