I attached a charged battery when I had the old converter. The furnace fired up and ran but the alarm went off indicating, I assume, the battery was not being charged by the converter.
1998 Mallard 29S. The bedroom was too small to move around in. I took the bed and the walls out with the intent to create an L shaped bed arrangement that can be used as couches during the day.
Installed the Progressive Dynamics 4100 series converter on Saturday. Straightforward but a lot of wires to squeeze into a compact space. Nevertheless, everything is connected and working, and the battery is charging!. A ton of thanks to all who gave advice on resolving this. I am back on line.
I do have a low Battery alarm , it started going off about every minute after it I connected a fresh battery to it and had the heater running for about 1/2 hr.
I took readings on the weekend. Almost no output to the battery. I ordered a progressive dynamics 4100 series converter and will install. Thanks to all for the help

I need to buy a proper RV battery, I only had a 12V car battery that I was testing the furnace with. It allowed me to fire up the furnace but the low batt warning alarm started soon after. I am suspecting the converter is not charging the batt.
Issue resolved. I hooked up a 12V battery to the leads and the furnace fired right up. Thanks to all for your suggestions and advice, a wealth of knowledge here. I learned something for sure.
