    Power Cords/Adapters

I agree with Rene - as a matter of fact, just a month or so ago we had a problem with the 30 amp breaker being soft and popping several times. I broke out my 50 amp converter and solved the problem.

    waxing

I am not Gary, but I am a Nu Finish fan. Yes, you can go a year between coating, but better to do it twice per year (just to be safe). And be sure that you put on 2 coats! Just read the bottle and do what it says.. if you have oxidized fiberglass, buff and polish first, then start with the Nu...

    solar wiring

Wireman134 touched on an important point, but did not expand: "Parallel is better for RV's do to shading" Shading is a big deal with solar. A very small bit of shade can have a significant impact on solar output. In parallel, if one panel is shaded, it only affects that panel. In serial, if...

    waxing

I have been using Nu Finish for years on both my RV and boat. Love it! Very easy to use.. you can put it on in direct sunlight.. you can apply to a HUGE section and then come back and buff it all off at once.. if you miss a spot and find it days later - no problem, it will buff right off to a...

    Ammonia vs Compressor Refrigerators

I own both a DC compressor fridge/freezer and an ammonia fridge/freezer. I have a DC compressor fridge and 2 freezers on my boat and the ammonia fridge/freezer in my RV. They both seem to work fine. I haven't checked the draw of my DC compressor units, but my 420 watts of solar have no problem...

    Working out Staying in Shape

Walking? We do a lot of it. Great work out! We have a 25' Class A (read: very small!) and have a stretching routine we do every other day. We do it indoors when it is raining, and find a grassy spot outside when it is not. Just get out and enjoy the nature that you started RVing for. You will...

    Coachmen quality?

I find this so often on forums like this. The "I have never owned" response (I always wonder why they are responding in the first place) says "stay away!" while the "I have owned" says "I was satisfied".  After I realized this I started ignoring the "I have never owned" responses and sorted...

Information on what brand of Digital Battery Monitor people installed?

I have a Xantrex LinkPro on both my boat and RV. Would not be without them! It will be easily be paid for by giving you accurate information to properly manage your battery bank thus making the batteries last MUCH longer.

    Yikes! Water tank cleaning mistake!

Oh my gosh, this brings back some really scary memories!  ;)

    Propane safety

I get the pun Gary..  ;) But I think you misread what I said - I said I doubt they are airtight (read: most likely NOT airtight). But if the air vents are not at the lowest part of the living/cooking compartment, it will not make any difference how air (water) tight the unit is. Gas can build up...

    Propane safety

Depletion of oxygen because of combustion (propane burning) is certainly a problem. However, I doubt most modern RVs are sealed air tight. I know ours has open vents that cannot be closed. So this really is not the issue. Something no one has mentioned yet is propane is heavier than air. If you...

    Best MPPT controller?

X3 - could not possibly be happier with both of mine.

Probably will be deleted or blocked

I will chime in here - I too do not own a "high dollar" rig. Just a modest MH. A couple of people picked up on this already.. my take was the OP was angry because his advice was not taken as gospel and headed. I hate to say this, but I don't like to be around those kind of people anyway. None...

    Thinking I need some solar!

I have solar on both my RV and my boat - LOVE IT! I would recommend you put as much on top as you can fit/afford. Some people will tell you not to get solid residential style panels because they can't handle the vehicle - nonsense. They are the most efficient panels you can get. As I said, I...

Fixing torn screw holes in fiberglass

I epoxy a toothpick into the hole. Depending on the size of the screw, you might not even need to drill. The hardwood of the toothpick and sealing of the epoxy work great. I have never had one of these repairs fail.
