We are looking into a Canada Visit

Chims is correct about Moraine lake being nicer than Lake Louise, we couldn't agree more. The Icefield parkway is absolutely stunning(don't miss Peyto Lake) and we've never failed to see several bears along the roadside

Upgrade manual crank jacks to electric?

I think BAL make a kit, that's what we have on our fifth wheel in the UK on the rear steadys. A 12 volt motor and gearbox slides on to the hexagonal winder head and the gearbox is attached to the steady pivot shaft with two plates. The attached picture is of the motor.

We are looking into a Canada Visit

What you would like to see when in Canada very much depends on how long you intend to be in the country. It's a very long drive from Florida to the border, and to give you some idea, we did around 5000 miles from Penticton to SSM, including trips out without the fifth wheel during the two...

Biggest tip, look for gas stations owned by first Nations. Around 25 cents per litre cheaper than other gas stations in the area.

We are looking into a Canada Visit

We did the reverse of this in 2022, but you've missed what we consider a great entry point at Sault st Marie on the great lakes. We had intended on going right over to Halifax Nova Scotia but cut our journey short due to the distance and the ridiculous price of fuel compared to the US. Ontario...

    Buying or renting the RV

Be wary of which state you purchase your RV as sales tax varies considerably. Some states don't charge any, Oregon and Montana are two that might be worth considering.

    Buying or renting the RV

Very few RV,s have insulation that will cope with winter weather in Alaska, Canada or any northern states. April in the Rockies of Canada could still see significant snowfall and road closure delays, but lower elevations can be quite pleasant. We were in BC during April 2022 and it was very...

    Buying or renting the RV

5 people in a 25ft C class will soon feel pretty cramped and I can't imagine a 30ft being much better. Mind you, 3 to 6 months for Canada, the US and Mexico isn't going to give them much time to enjoy the stunning scenery.

    Vandals

The problem with minorizing small acts of crime, vandalism, theft etc is those that commit these acts and get away with it, could go on to bigger acts because their perception of crime differs from that of responsible people. It's like those that think throwing garbage from their vehicles is an...

Trains, Difference Between Europe and The US

Free parking, them were the days. We even have to pay to park at a hospital now, even if you're having out patient treatment. On rare occasions, they might issue a car park waiver ticket but it's like winning the lottery.

Trains, Difference Between Europe and The US

The Chunnel ( rail tunnel under the channel to France) has rail cars you drive into and you stay in your car for the short journey to/from Calais

Trains, Difference Between Europe and The US

Train tickets in the UK are extortionate. Last year we took an Amtrak from New York to Richmond Virginia, about 300 miles for around $60 for the pair of us. It cost nearly the same in the UK to travel return about 60 miles total journey. Amtrak had huge reclining seats, British rail, you were...
