Just an FYI, there are no “service pets.” There are “pets” and there are “service dogs” (and a few miniature horses). They are not the same and are treated differently. And the “pet relief” areas are nasty places. My guide dog Ralph doesn’t want to set foot in them.

Mesa Verde and Hovenweep in Colorado are also cashless on site. Probably all other NPS sites, too. Federal government requires two employees count money so easier/cheaper to only accept plastic.

We live in Cortez and go to ABQ frequently and Moab often. All decent non-interstate roads. It’s about 4.5 hours from Cortez to Abq with the RV and about 2 hours from Cortez to Moab so total of 6.5 to 7 hours, a bit over your 6 hour sweet spot. There are plenty of campgrounds in Cortez if you...
