Car accident in Mexico, need an RV body shop.

Well after much work, our old Dolphin is basically put back together again. The girlfriend and I have been working tirelessly to do it all ourselves. I documented it all in our blog if you're interested in some photos. Edit: Link in signature line.

Yup, we got in a crash outside Tepic, MX so the old girl is getting gutted and done once again. :( Trying to stay positive. No one was hurt and the Dolphin, after some hard work, will have life again. Whole story at http://www.followthewind.net/

Car accident in Mexico, need an RV body shop.

At the moment we are in Tepic having the suspension repaired. The axle got pushed back, just a simple loosen u-bolts and realign. No frame damage or really any damage to the "Toyota" part of the vehicle. It's pretty well isolated to Dolphin damage. The door has fallen off, the frame for the door...

Car accident in Mexico, need an RV body shop.

Very, Very big long shot. But I figured I'd ask and cross my fingers. Title says it all. I'm in Tepic, Mexico right now waiting for the mechanic to fix the suspension so it'll be drivable. The rear quarter of my Old Toyota Dolphin got hit pretty good yesterday. I figure if there's anywhere in...

You can always force the tire on the rim by driving over it, then set the bead with carb cleaner and a torch. Also, I have an air compressor. ;)

Appreciate the tire advice all. I do have a spare and am packing an extra un-rimmed tire in case they are hard to find for purchase. Also the fact that the dolphin has dually tires in back may be what gets me out of a pinch. Rearranging all the tires till you have one good one in each location...

Glad you enjoyed the "technical." I was wondering if I should cut that out of the blog or not, but now you've reinvigorated me to keep it up. Thanks! Cross country definitely put her to the test. Quickly learned not to push her to hard when the transmission started overheating and puking...

Couple months into a drive from California to Chile!

My girlfriend and I are taking our 1985 Toyota Dolphin as far south as roads will allow. Currently parked in Mazatlan waiting for Carnaval before turning our wheels south again. Trying to document everything in our blog and gallery. Hope you enjoy!

Revamped/remodeled old Toyota Dolphin for drive to Chile!

Hi everybody! My girlfriend and I decided we wanted to do a road trip from California to Chile. We bought ourselves an old, beat up, 1985 Toyota Dolphin and got it rigged with solar panels, roof box for storage, custom welded bike rack, rebuilt the entry step, reupholstered and repainted the...
