How to use a tank cleaning wand

Not sure from the descriptions I've read. Do you attach this wand to a hose, drag the hose inside the RV, keep the toilet valve open, shove the wand down the hole and turn on the water (with of course the terminal - outside - valve open and the hose seated in the sewer outlet) AND/OR do you...

    Florida car/truck insurance

Eek - found out that my truck insurance increased 5 fold! from the premium I had using my Texas address! I needed to transfer my insurance to FL so I could get my truck registered in FL. This is such a major expense increase, I wonder why Florida is considered as good a domicile as TX. Anyone...

    Washer / Dryer vs Laundromat

Well, I'm a coop, co-housing type of gal. Big appliances, I feel, should be shared. RV park laundromats are a lot more convenient than ones you find in town - and they are a place to make connections! Why haul around such heavy appliances and lose the space they occupy.

    All things RV

Go to the Escapees website. Besides the info on their website, they have yearly or bi-yearly rallies which provide indispensable info for newbies. Also Rvbasics website. Also Geeks on Tour - their website is down, but check Youtube for their videos.

Dealing with wifi on the road?

Over a year I got tired of using quite often poor wifi at campgrounds (like having to sit at a picnic table outside the office in cold weather in order to get reception). Also, you can't stream anything on campground wifi and I like to use Netflix. So I broke down and got an unlimited myfi -...

    Mobile Hotspot and Roku

I can watch Netflix on my laptop using my mobile hotspot. Will I have a problem trying to set up Roku so I can watch Netflix on my TV?

    Ugly RV Furniture

Am I the only one? The only RVer that hates the standard RV furniture - HUGE - HEAVY - BROWN. I've been looking for small lightweight swivel chairs with bright cheerful or artistic upholstery. Of course, not sure if I can get the new chairs thru' the door. Any ideas where I can find alternate...

Any resources out there for finding the cheapest storage options for your RV in a general geographical area? Something like RVParky?

    Travel Trailer Registration - Necessary?

Thanks guys - actually, I realize now that I would have to pay the sales tax anyway when processing my income tax next year - since you're supposed to declare purchases made out of state or on the net. So might as well get it over now and be safe and legal.

    Travel Trailer Registration - Necessary?

I bought my TT in Oregon where there are no state taxes. In order to register the TT, since I don't have a new domicile yet (I'm a full-timer, sold my home in Vermont), I have to register in Vermont. Vermont wants over $2,000 in sales tax. OK - so I shouldn't balk at being a good citizen. But...

    RV Registration Dilemna

Thanks guys. Looks like for Florida you have to be there in person. Sigh. And a travel trailer doesn't even have a motor! Guess I'll have to register it in Vermont with an invalid address. And have to pay $2,000 in taxes!

    RV Registration Dilemna

I need to register my TT. I?m recently from Vermont; I am in Oregon; I have a new Escapees mail forwarding service address in Texas. I will be establishing domicile in Florida. I plan to be in Florida mid-November. My driver?s license and truck registration currently have my Vermont address...

What is the best way to watch TV as an RVer?

So much good info! Thanks, guys. It's funny tho' - you can get satellite radio for about $20 a month - it works everywhere as you drive - you don't have to reprogram it when you leave an area - it has a tiny antennae - you don't have to position it - it costs less than $100 - and it has...

What is the best way to watch TV as an RVer?

Wow - $2000 for a A-1 ichiban roof-mounted automatic RF Mogul dish. To think, my Roku cost $50 and my Netflix and Hulu together ran around $15 a month. And I could watch what I wanted when I wanted. And the hassles and time spent to get a signal - you would think there would be something...

What is the best way to watch TV as an RVer?

When I had my home, I had unlimited internet and just loved my Roku to watch Hulu and Netflix anytime I wanted to. What is the solution for an RVer? You don't usually get good WiFi at a campground; the amount of data you can stream using MiFi (mobile WiFi) is limited. Is getting a satellite dish...
