    Furnace trouble again .....

I completely agree on all those thing! My problem is this is a 20 year old unit and the problem just started after I changed out the regulator. My "feeling" was the old regulator was not supplying enough fuel ... the burner sounder like it was pulsing (whoosh ...whoosh ... whoosh) ... It now...

    Furnace trouble again .....

Just called the factory ... the unit should not cycle ... the limit switch should not be tripping. So  .... I can think of three problems 1) bad high temp limit switch 2) too high fuel pressure (burning hot as it has too much fuel) 3) too low fuel pressure (burning hot as it is burning very...

    Furnace trouble again .....

Found an answer to that on another site ... The switch is a high temperature switch and should not go off and on. The unit should stay on till the thermostat shuts it off. Unfortunately the guy had a different problem  ... turns out his vents in the RV were blocked and there was not enough...

    Furnace trouble again .....

So should I assume the regulator is working correctly and the problem is the furnace? Maybe the high temp switch? Could it be too much or to little propane ????? Will it run "hot" if is too lean  ... or run "hot" if too much propane getting through? Again, this problem just appeared when I...

    Furnace trouble again .....

I don't know what I did wrong this time .... So back to the 1999 28-T Bounder. I put a new furnace in last year ... second time I did this ..  SUBURBAN FURNACE SF-35 I had also found the safety valve was full of oil (caused low flow and furnace not to run) ... fixed. Tried the furnace a few...

    Propane regulator problem

I will try to grab one later today. If I remember, just a straight inline regulator with a plastic cover that mounts on a tank bracket. Thanks .... Mike

    Propane regulator problem

Hey! The old 1999 T28 is acting up again. Two years ago the furnace refused to start. Turns out it was the safety solenoid. When I opened the system, oil came dripping out ... not a little bit ... a lot! I remember someone telling me that they put oil in the propane to help lubricate...

Solar Charger and RV Charger - battery bank charging combined

Are you looking to turn off the solar charger when you "draw" shore power or when power from the shore is available? And maybe this is a moot point ... maybe there will always be some draw. You could just hook a relay directly (well through a fuse) across the incoming shore power lines.  On my...

    Video: "Don't Buy an RV"

Thanks Joel. It is very true ... I don't  think I am any smarter than anyone else.  if you just break down a project into little steps, almost anything can be done. I am actually working on the generator right now.  I have never touched one before but I found the manual online.  Going through...

    Video: "Don't Buy an RV"

Like almost any investment, the key is knowledge. Look at any large investment ... say a house.  I have bought and sold a couple.  I know what to look for and how much things will cost to fix.  I also know what I can do myself and what I will need to  pay for. A friend bought a house last year...

Dead Onan Generator ... advice please

I know a RV dealer sounds good but I just have had no luck with them in the past and at $125 per hour plus parts marked up %100, I may as well just replace both the control assembly and voltage regulator ... it will still be cheaper! Sorry ... just horror story after horror story with dealers...

Dead Onan Generator ... advice please

Started the generator the other day ... fan for a while then shut off.  Played with it a bit and found it would only run when the start button is held down.  As soon as I released it, it stops. Did a quick web search and eliminated all the simple problems ... not a stuck remote switch, there...
