Delta Strummers prep for May concerts

The Delta Strummers uke band has been busy rehearsing for our May concerts. We started the season with a selection of songs from our existing Song Book, and more were added from recent open mic' sessions (where band members perform/audition a new-to-us number, for addition to our song book and possible inclusion in the next show). The result was 33 contenders, which are slowly being whittled down to 18-20 for the show. Learning to play and sing new songs is a challenge with folks having a wide variety of musical (playing/singing) skills. But our Music Director patiently coaches everyone through, and we somehow end up with a program that works.

Sorry Jackie, I wasn't clear. Those 33 songs on our practice list are a combination of existing songs and 10 or so 'new' ones. Some of these new ones won't work and will be culled from the final program playlist.
