Thanks for posting that Tom. Ed was one great guy. Sam & I were privleged to met him and his sweet wife at the rally in Ruidoso. They gave several of the framily a tour of the area around Ruidoso including White Sands and Lincoln NM. I think we all should be thankfull for the efforts of Ed Juge in getting the RV Forum started.

Ed was no stranger to RV-ing. Even back when he had his store, he had a travel trailer. I remember one summer when the A/C went out in his house, he let the kids sleep in the trailer in the driveway.

This was the location of Ed's store. 3850 South Freeway in Fort Worth. After he closed it and went to Tandy, the building was sold to a religious organization. Now it looks empty. His original store was on Pennsylvania Ave in a rented space. This was in the 70s.

Thanks for posting that. I didn't know Ed had that store. When I first knew him, he was working for Tandy and for Compaq. He travelled the country to educate journalists on how to get online to file their reports.

I remember that, for such a big guy, he had a "tenor" voice. I can hear him now in my mind. He would see me and say: "Hello TP". His wife Jo and I got our novice licenses at about the same time. Ed gave me the test. He had a 125' tower at the store and a 75' tower at his home. He lived on Walraven Circle back then. Jo and I would get on the air and practice code. After I got my general license, I hung out on the Southwest Traffic Net at 3.935. We coached each other and all got our Advanced licenses. I still have the Advanced, although it's not issued any more. You get General, Technician or Extra.
