New ad for Nook

B&N have decided to match the Amazon/Kindle ad which shows someone sitting on a chair at the beach, reading their Kindle.

While I was fishing the middle fork of the Feather River today, Chris drew up a chair and pulled out her Nook. I couldn't resist snapping a pic.

Wendy,  I know the Kindle can be read in bright sunlight.  I have done it under the AZ sun.  Can not speak for the Nook but I would think it could too.

Yes Wendy, the E ink displays are high contrast, literally black on white.
 
E ink requires light to read, just like paper books, the brighter the better.  The Kindle, Nook, and the like don't have backlights.  That's how they get weeks of use from one battery charge.
 
Since the Admiral has learned to sleep at night with my reading lamp on in bed, no backlighting should not be a problem for me. <g>
