How often do you watch your outdoor television??

The friendliest place on the web for anyone with an RV or an interest in RVing!

We've never had an outside TV.

In the evenings or bad weather my wife is normally on her kindle and I on my Surface Pro. We typically research and communicate when inside.

We RV for the activities, fires and the beautiful stars at night.

The one exception is Football. Seriously.... I have to see the big games. Tom Brady looked good last night, amazing for a 43 old guy. The Patriot's staff are probably kicking themselves in the ass for letting him go. The Super Bowl is going to be one hell of a game.

We watch ours all the time. Don't want to be stuck inside watching  the news, Nascar, baseball, football and super bowl. We have camped coast to coast and found many people watching  an outside TV in all the campgrounds mostly mornings and evenings. I guess each to there own.

Our TT doesn't have the outdoor TV option..However our house has a TV mounting bracket and cable hookup on the covered porch. I've considered taking it down.

We do have a neighbor about 150 Yards away that likes to watch college football outside. You don't really hear the TV so much. But when the Razorbacks do something good you can hear them yell and cheering. Not the worst thing in the world.

But when the Razorbacks screw up....It really gets loud and the language gets pretty rough.

Heck, my neighbors were more like 1/4 mile away, and had no outdoor TV's.  You could still hear them when the Razorbacks did something good.
If they screwed up, you'd likely hear gunshots(we were way further in the woods than you are),

We used to watch ours regularly. Usually for football or baseball games in nice weather. Neither of which required much volume.  Then with all the craziness involving a lot of different media these days, we watch no Pro sports at all.

So I haven't even opened the cabinet other than to wipe down the edges after a wash on the RV.

Never did watch it.

We've always thought that the reason we travel is to visit the outdoors for what it has to offer. I can admit that there could be rare occasions when having an outdoor TV would be worthwhile - but not for us and certainly not to be imposed on the neighbors that might not enjoy our shows...(headphones could solve that). We also needed the storage room as we were full timing... So, the old fashioned TV and the rest of the related electronics was given to some neighborhood kids before we sold the homes and we reduced to one TV for the two of us.

My wife and I prefer college football but that's why God created Saturday and Sunday. LOL

When you go to college in Columbus, Ohio, you meet a lot of people. When we were in our forties, I had a friend from Cincinnati visit and we had 40 or 50 people over; we all rotated houses. My friend asked me if I knew all these people. I thought it was funny because I was good friends with everyone of them. If you're lonely, move to Columbus, Ohio.

I wanted Ohio State to win but you have to give Alabama credit; they played a great game and kicked our butt. Congratulations and we will see you next year... LOL again.

We don't have one, and I've never really wanted one.  99% of the time, we are chatting, listening to music and watching the fire.  Looking at new coaches, though, it's kind of hard to find one without it!

That said, last summer we camped with a couple of "COVID bubble" friends, and wanted to see a great Billy Strings show.  Our daughter gave us an inexpensive, but usable, digital projector for Christmas.  I brought it, and my dad's old 60s-vintage Da-Lite screen he used to use for slide shows.  Connected my iPad, et voila!

Worked much better than I expected!  Here's a short video:  https://imgur.com/gallery/iHUd8LL

Very nice.

I've used InFocus projectors for 20 years. Everyone wanted to come to our house on football day.

I noticed you are using a screen which with RV decals makes sense. At home we point it at a wall. The 4K units today are cheap and you simply adjust the wall paint color in the settings for perfect color.

We've had a "movie night" with several friends a couple of times, and it was kinda fun. Beats cramming everyone into the motorhome.

Last Labor Day weekend our neighbors in a state park had an outdoor, big screen movie night - Animal House. I love the movie but not sure it's the best option for a campground full of kids. We were sitting around our campfire and I was in was in a mood so I started quoting the movie in real time. They seemed to get a laugh out of it and someone even yelled "come on over" at one point. We didn't but we all had fun with it.

We never do, and then I realized I don't have one.

I did watch Super Bowl once many years ago in Quartzsite in an outside TV, but that was it, and not my coach.

I would be more likely to get a projector to hook up and use a screen, less gear to deal with.

Thanks.  That old screen is shockingly good. The aspect ratio is a bit off for modern times, but the picture looked great.  I still remember vacation slides being shown on it over 40 years ago!

Don't get me wrong; screens are great. The reflectivity is exceptionable and your bulb will last longer because you can turn down your brightness.

In the last ten years or so the manufacturers have added advance features and of course improved the resolution. The whole 4:3 vs 16:9 ratio has perplexed many but once the zoom and focus are properly adjusted you're good to go.

TV? Isn't the Tow Vehicle always outside? Our towed doesn't come inside either. The dogs do.
To be close to the real subject, we even dropped out cable last fall.

Our current TT has outside connections. Our last TT also had them. The first and only time I connected a TV was to make sure it worked.
We do use the outside speakers, but keep the volume down to normal conversation level.

TV? Not a chance, Music down low, yes even if we're the only ones in the campground. At home in the driveway where my closest neighbor is a mile away? as loud as I want to.
