Yes sir. I kind of hit right on the corner but still hit pretty hard. Surely wasn’t prepared for my size 13 foot to hit both pedals at the same time. I was in shock. Still waiting for word from the ins. Company.

My daughter just had her 2 month old Nissan totaled in a minor rear end collision when the car behind her failed to stop in time. She wasn't injured and the damage looks cosmetic, but it caught the corner of the unibody "frame" and cocked it sideways, putting ripples in the floor pan as well. No shop would quote a fixed price for the job or promise it could be repaired perfectly, so it was totaled.

Sorry about that. Happy your daughter is okay. They did say the I beam was bent and there was a ripple in the roof. Still waiting on the insurance company

still waiting on insurance appraiser? they sure are taking a long time to get you an inspection!

I would be hoping they total that Rig with that damage if I owned it.

Hope it works out to your liking either way.

A shared acronym I have never forgotten here on the Forum.

GOAL= Get out and Look...It will now be forever branded into your thought process.

Feeling your Pain Brother!

I have to ask........ was there a barrage of 4 letter words spewing from your lips afterwards when eyeballs locked into damage area?

Surprised the insurance would even cover it. Years ago, my foot slipped off the clutch of my delivery truck, and it cracked the garage door, and frame, bent the grill, and bumper. Insurance declared that it was my truck, on my property, thus no coverage.

something weird there...auto insurance covers you in cases like that, it's an accident, plain & simple. In Mass that would be illegal for insurance to deny a claim solely due to it happening on your property. You would be surcharged for an "at-fault" if the insurer paid out $1000 or higher, after deductible, but they would have to cover it. You should question what happened to your claim a little deeper. I work for a major insurance company out of Boston.

I lived in Wisconsin at the time. It was nearly 30 years it happened. It’s possible laws have changed over the years.

Mr Lars RV collision insurance should have paid to fix his RV damage, but he cannot collect on the RV policy for the damage done to the building he also owns. He can't sue himself for damage under the RV liability policy. A trickier question is whether he could collect on his separate building insurance policy (if any). Arguably the damage done to his property was the result of his own negligence, which is typically an exception for home owner insurance. Policies and state insurance regs vary on subtle questions like that.

ok, that I understand about his dwelling, I was referring to the damage to his vehicle. The vehicle is covered no matter what it hits as long as it has collision-coverage.

Update: there was minimal damage to the garage. I repaired it for 20.00. The RV repair(major national RV place), is waiting for a parts replacement cost from Jayco, before they submit the final quote. The insurance company will not decide until they get the quote from the vendor. Bottom line is: I still have no word on whether it will be repaired or totaled

Ditto with "ohhhh no!!"
So sorry.
Nothing like a learning curve and teachable moment all combined in one.

Your truck or any other truck..accident is an accident..they have to cover it..some companies are just playing with people money

Update: the insurance adjuster has submitted quote for repai. Is everyone sitting down? $41,000.00. I guess he is running it up the chain of command for a decision to repair or total. Evidently it is way over his head.

They may not total it because you said it was $71000 new. Then how much did it depreciate the minute you drove it off the lot. Good luck.
